A mate came round to give me some more welding tips and he mentioned a bench vice, just to hold things steady while welding so had a dig around and knocked this up.. cost nothing and gave me an excuse to practice tig welding. Happy with the results and should come in handy

What you want are called "f" clamps... Cheap ones at harbor freight.

I bought a welder 20 years ago but was never totally happy with it. They seemed to have a kind of magic that I just couldn't replicate. A mate gave me a big welder and a total beginner's welding guide about a year ago, so I thought I'd have another go. The welder was cheap and looked like a good buy, so I didn't bother with a vice. I just used an old Allen key as a holder. Now I have my own bench vice that I am using for my projects. I got it to form https://swindens.co.uk. It's one of the best because it's made of high-quality materials.
