Hey guys,

Looking for some advice here, I'm thinking about buying a bike to streetfighter and turn into a stunter.

I'm swinging towards a 600 as they're lighter and smaller and therefore should be easier to use and hopefully do less damage when I drop it. I could use the GSXR but it's such a large bike and the throttle's very touchy and anything but smooth so I have my doubts about it's suitibility.

Chances are the final decision will probably depend alot on what's available as I'll ideally get something that's been biffed down the road (no point stripping a mint bike), but I'd still value your opinions/experiences.

Cheers:D

HONDA

f4i or the RR. the f4i is a good lot bike if you wanna do slow stuff. the RR is better for takin it to the streets.

do yourself a favor, listen to me.

Yeah I've noticed that the f4i is fucken popular in the states, why is that? what's it got that makes it so much better than the other 600's?

It's gonna have to be a damn good reason to make me park a bloody Hon-duh in my garage.... alot of friends will probably disown me! lol!

At what speeds? I agree that she's a mint bike for wheelies, spreaders, (how the fuck did you manage highchairs with such a high screen?) and shit like that at 70k's+ (40mph+ for you yanks), but I'm keen to get into slow scrapes, circles and shit like that.

If it's possible then I'm happy to give it a go, but I don't want to put all that time and money into setting it up for stunting just to find out that it was a bad choice and I should've used something else.

Why don't you try and find a rough and ready 98-99 Gixxer seven fiddy like Deaths? Injected's the way to go and they're cheap enough over here. 14-60 tooth gearing will see you right and there's a shitload of custom stunt parts available for them. First of which should be a modified oil pick up. Because of their popularity as a race bike, there's heaps of used/spare parts available.

Also, and above all, it's a Suzuki. Don't listen to these Honda riding poofs. :D

It's personal preference more than anything else. You can stunt a damn Harley if you're good enough, but it's just gonna be REALLY hard to learn! Gixxer 750 would work fine, in US the F4i is the king of slow-speed stunting, but there are plenty of guys doing it on gixxers too. I'd say take em both for a ride, see what feels most comfortable.

gixxers are fat. f4i's and 636's are the kate moss' of stunt bikes. real easy to move around.

but again if your a zuki man, then stick with it. you just gotta learn to ride the bike that way, and get the proper setup.

really, you can stunt just about anything with a clutch, and some things without them.

practice practice practice. and the right stunt accessories!

Nah, that looks too nice, I'd be scared to scratch it up!

Talked to a mate at a bike wreakers today, he reckon's I'll be pushing shit up hill trying to find a damaged 600. They're not very common over here cause everyone goes for the 1000's, guess it's the whole 'bigger is better' syndrome.

He did say they have a 919 coming in soon with minor damage that I could get cheap.

Also could buy my mate's '99 R1 that's all setup for stunting cause he's think of selling it soon.

that is generally true, but not for lot riding. great for highways and around town, but sux for lots. you want a light manueverable bike and to make up for the power loss, just get bigger rear sprocket.

919 is based off of the 900rr's engine. however it is the detuned or untuned version, so it could use some work. stunting one of these has come up in the past, as i was interested in getttin one. it would be do-able, and very different.

the r1, as i said before is a better highway bike...but if its your only option, rock it. sprockets, cage, hb. good to go!

how much is it gonna cost ya?

Sorry didn't really make that clear, I do want a 600 and am looking for one that's been damaged, but they're pretty rare as the general sportbike riders in NZ prefer the 1000's. It's also the same cost to insure a 1000 as a 600 too which probably doesn't help.

Cheers, that's good to know. I think if I was going to consider the 919 then I'd be better to go with the R1, as it's already half done. It's had the tank beaten in, got the sprockets fitted (sorry can't remember what size) and frame sliders. So I'd just need to add a cage and a 12 bar. Price will be about $5000NZ ($3000US)

Would still prefer a 600 though if I can find one and it's winter here now so I've got till sept/oct to look around.

Please excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by hb?

by HB i mean hand brake...hand control for the rear brake.

and 3g's for a r1 is a good deal. just depends how much the previous stunter has killed it.

haha yeah I just realised and wondered if I could get back before anyone spotted it lol
Think it'll be a while before I'm good enuf to need one of those.

Yeah it's a wicked price. The bike's pretty tidy too, will see if I can find a pic.
