frame sliders are made to keep the frame (not the fairings) off the ground in the event of a fall.

chain guards keep the chain from hitting you if the chain breaks while your riding

swingarm spools are for lifting the rear of your bike with a spool stand. same as a regular swingarm stand, but has hooks, instead of pads to lift the rear. the hokks go under the spools. a must if you have retarded swingarm like mine where the lower edge of the swingarm isn't the same on both sides.

and uhm chain guards make you legal too, cuz here you have to have one to pass inspection.

spools as skroOz said are for lifting your rear end with a spool stand....but im curious. if your swingarm sides arent even, wouldnt your spools be uneven as well??

you can also get spools with slider pucks on the ends of them to help keep your swinger and rim from hitting the ground if you go down. i think theyre a good investment, as they arent too expensive anyway.

nope, the mounts aren't the same on both sides. i'm surprised you never noticed. your 929 is farther from being even than my 954 is.

On another note, chain guards will keep your chain from hitting your leg if it breaks, but they have a habit of getting grimey and letting big chunks of greasedirtshit fall on your chain if you don't take it off and clean it every once in a while.
