after, I started my bike to let it warm up for a minute to take er for a ride. Well she took a bit to heat up, and then when it did, the fan didnt come on AND coolant pissed out of it for a bit.
was too tired to deal with it, so i put it away for the next day. So the next day...it stopped pissing coolant (because it pissed most of it out) but fan still didnt come on.
checked manual, said if it takes long to heat up that means the thermostat is junk...so i pulled that out and ordered a new one. was gonna use a donor from frankenstunt, but that one dont look to good either. so i'm waiting.
then my teach. tells me that it could have just been an airbubble right beneath the thermostat. . . wtf.
has anyone heard of this?? i didnt think a fuckin air bubble would keep my fan from coming on...but i guess so, because it would keep the thermostat from working right.
It is definately possible. Thermostats aren't much $$$ tho, so you might as well replace it. You don't want to be 2 hours away from home on some country road and have it happen again, and push your bike for a couple of hours!
