ive heard people say blah blah blah yeah i removed my charcoal box too. This is an emissions thing right? Can i just remove it and plug up all the vacume lines? Is it essential? theres like 20 some odd vacume lines all webbed together:confused:

not all of them are vacuum lines. some are vent lines.

you can take all that crap off, but some lines have to stay open, some have to be sealed. couldn't tell you for the life of me which ones are which without seeing them firsthand.

or, you can just take all the crap off, plug anything that obiously goes to the intake tract to pull vaccum, and see if it starts and idles normally :D

does it have "extra" ports on the exhaust side of the head too? alot of bikes with all that emissions garbage do, and you'd have to make block off plates for them.

usually just the ca bikes, but most of the mfr's now aren't making 2 different bikes for the states, just one that passes ca emissions. the euro bikes are mostly the same now too, that's why you see alot of new bikes with passing switches and an extra light on the front of the fairings.

My 250 was a cali bike and I removed the box off it. I stumbled across a writeup on how to do it though. I doubt it would help you out though because its a much simpler little bike to work on.

IIRC one hose had to be run from one side of the carbs to the other, and I had to do something with the vent hose from the tank... Oh, and I think there was a little rubber washer/seal in the gas cap that I had to remove for venting purposes too...

There has to be a writeup on the net on de-boxing a bike similar to your F3...

when i took off a piece (not as complicated) I would take out the part and just connect the hose to the part after. If you trace your steps, so if i had o------x--------x--------o

I would take the two x's out and go o----------------0

if I had 0-------x---------x

then I would plug the line. because it doesn't go back to the carb or engine.

hope this helps at all
