Well I'm about to chop my subframe and Bob my r1. I wonder if I can bolt in a new cross member to brace it or if I even need a new cross member. I have to red lines drawn on the pic .most likely cutting at the rear line.since the crossbar on the very end was jb welded on it cracked and broke when I laid it down. A few people have told me to bolt in a cross tube with with threaded rod and nuts and washers going through it which makes sense but I figured someone on here would be of more help. I wasn't sure since I would just be moving it to the next cross member

The threaded rod and tube xmember should be just fine. Just be sure to fit a piece of tube, or something solid, inside your original subframe tubing as well to prevent it from collapsing.

Not really sure by looking, but is your subframe steel or aluminum? If it's steel, any muffler shop would weld it solid for you for not a lot of money. Maybe $20 and you'd never have to worry about it. Just a thought.
