Yes! Today was an exciting day for me. I got written up for three infractions on the freeway:

1. 95+mph (naked SV650?) maybe 85
2. crossing over the double yellow
3. ear plugs

:LolLolLolLol:

I haven't had a ticket in such a long time. I have to contest it just for fun.

No, our society shouldn't get bent over little papers written up by a LEO. I actually had a long chat with the guy and pointed out that he did write me up for no turn signals in the front, and license plate reflectors. It turns out that he's also a motorcop, but today he had a trainee in the car. Long story short, it was time....

You have a double yellow line on the interstate? It's not a divided highway?

EarPLUGS are legal. EarPHONES are not.

CVC 27400. No person operating any motor vehicle or bicycle shall wear
any headset covering, or any earplugs in, both ears. The prohibition
of this section does not apply to any of the following:
(a) Persons operating authorized emergency vehicles, as defined in
Section 165.
(b) Any person engaged in the operation of either special
construction equipment or equipment for use in the maintenance of any
highway.
(c) Any person engaged in the operation of refuse collection
equipment who is wearing a safety headset or safety earplugs.
(d) Any person wearing personal hearing protectors in the form of
custom earplugs or molds that are designed to attenuate injurious
noise levels. The custom plugs or molds shall be designed in a
manner so as to not inhibit the wearer's ability to hear a siren or
horn from an emergency vehicle or a horn from another motor vehicle.

(e) Any person using a prosthetic device which aids the hard of
hearing.

The double yellow is usually a bullshit ticket the CHP gives you when you're splitting in the carpool. Everybody here goes 85-90 on the freeway anyway, so that's bullshit a lot of the time too.

I think that was put on there because he was frustrated that he had to catch up to me with his slow cruiser with all the other cars in the way. I wish I would have recorded the conversation.

The 4 times I've been pulled over on the bike, I've told the officer (2 PD and 2 CHP) to hold on for a sec because I had to take my ear plugs out. Not one of them said anything about it. Definitely fight that one. Good luck on the other 2 tho. I've heard good things about this site but never tried it myself - http://www.ticketassassin.com/
