go to statewide or your local craigslist and look up the keyword "cafe" "streetfighter"

Post results here :D
basically looking for outrageous priced hipster-mobiles or blatant "bootyfab"/ crap work
This should be fun

The guys over on 2strokeworld had a field day with this seller. Here is what one guy that restored a few R5's said to the seller:

Hi,

beautiful R5 you have. Just a word of advice from somebody who has owned and restored a few of these.

1: they never made a chrome tank model, ever. that was never an option from the factory regardless of what anybody has told you.

2: the cyl fins should be silver as the edges, not black. motor has been repainted. even if it was not by you, its not right.

3: they never had allen bolts holding the engine covers on from the factory. should be JIS cross heads.

4: its hard to see int eh pictures, but if the tailight lense has a lip on it, its wrong, the r5s and ds7's had a smooth lense.

5: the airbox is missing and replaced with aftermarket filters.

6: the control wires on the bars have been spliced and the white/clear ties that would hold them to the bars are missing

7: the all rubber caps for the spark plugs whould be 5ohm hard plastic/bakelite resistor caps.

theres a bit of buzz on the 2 stroke boards about this. its being sold as a 'museum quality' restoration. while it is very, very nice it is not museum quality as there are too many things that are not original.

good luck with the sale.

The seller wasnt happy.

Heres mine

Might be worth the money as a collectors item (no idea there), but tagging it 'cafe' is an insult both to the bike's actual history, and the fact that cafe racer builders were doing everything they could to AVOID the crappy handling cause by plunger suspension frames.

1948 Norton ES2 500 - $8900

For $3k that last one is pretty awesome. You can barely get a decent running XS650 for less than $2500 recently.
