Anyone know of a shop that does custom machine work. I need to have a top tripple made that I can put risers for a dirt bike style handlebar on. No one is currently making one for the triumph 675 and I cant mod the one I have due to it being hollow in the center. I would be happy to lend my tripple for use in making this product available.

Nearly any local machine shop will do this for you.

You may need a CAD file so what you'd need to do is find someone to do the CAD drawing of your triple that you want.

I agree, most local machine shop probably could, but I would prefer to have one doe it that specializes in mc, and would truly understand what i need and have it look good as well! Thought I would try here first. Besides I was hoping that someone woulod want to do this to bring a new product to the market as well.

They should all be the same, the 675 has only been out 2 years and hasn't changed to my knowledge.

Sev is the inside man at Triumph...

I was talking about the 675, haha
Triumph had a Daytona 600 and 650 in their efforts to keep up with the Jap inline fours. So it was pretty easy to get confused.

That being said... I'm not sure that a street triple upper would 100% fit. Triumph went with cheaper suspenders on the triple as opposed to the 675 in order to save $$$$, and while we have a street in the shop it's already been crashed, so I haven't really got access (or time) to be measuring it. But I'm relatively certain that it'll be the same dimensions. As there's talk floating around the shop of pulling the forks and shock off a crashed 675 to make a better street triple :D!

from the machinists i've talked to, NO-ONE would do a top tripple for me. They all worked at shops (probably not their own) but said that it is too much of a liability to make front end parts for a bike b/c its so imperative to the bikes handling & steering. its a huge insurance issue.

They don't have a problem making and selling them on Ebay..like the one in the link below. But, they are so set in what they can do, they can't deviate, which is why I think they all get them from over there.. I asked if I could get one with no key hole, but with DZC engraved instead of GSXR....and each guy I contacted, said they could not do it. If I can figure out how to machine the outside radius of the fork clamp part, I may try making my own...some day. LOL

I can't find the guys email addy right now but if you go over to www.scpmc.net you can PM a guy named Dr.honda. he has a small machine shop and he does allot of custom stuff that is motorcycle oriented.

on a side note, he just started producing rearset relocation plates so you can adjust the location of your stock rearsets (not sure what bikes he is making them for yet.)
