I plan on making a custom tail piece, the tail piece is going to look like a z1000 tail piece, including seat cowl. But a 1 piece smoothed unit. The problem is the bandit is bigger than the subframe on the z1000 so i want a custom one made up instead of cutting about the subframe.

Is this possible? if so any links would be much apprieated

A custom tail unit? or a custom subframe? Either one is possible, though I'm affraid I don't have links to info on either one exactly.

Subframe can be done with a torch and welder. Or you can get a Z1000 subframe and redo the mounts on the bandit frame to take the Z subframe.

If you're talking about a new tail fairing, it could be done. What I would reccomend is to take a Z1000 tail, and cut it down the middle and stretch it width-wise to the width you want, and fiberglass it in to make the one-piece unit you want. Deffinatly possible, it'll just take some work and thinkin. Since it would be wider you may not be able to use the same tailight too, but theres a few options there depending on how imaginative you got.

Go for it man!

in my opinion it's easier working with metal than plastic. I'd rather mod the subframe to fit the plastic than the other way around. i have a bandit and beyond the drives seat its all for the passenger. If you don't plan on having passengers you can do whatever you want to the frame past the drivers seat without any more re-enforcement. If you do plan on having passengers just re-enforce your cuts and you're set. me, i just chopped the whole thing off.......lol

+1 it is would be easier to get a Zed tail and subframe, cut off your bandit subframe, then get mounting points welded on your frame to accept the Zed subframe. Sounds like a lot of work, but trust me, fiberglassing is WAY more. Plus the bandit has a steel frame, yes? Thats much easier (cheaper) to weld than alluminum, so it'd be fine.
