new owners appear to be ripping the soul from the forum, But i'm not making one myself, so lets make the most of what we got

can't complain about it and then not participate

My Dad died way back in 2007 ,he'd had this bike since about 1991, we kept it alive with GPZ900r exhaust cans, CBR900r coils etc, it's been sitting waiting on me for a long long time, so I'd like to get it done while my step mother is still here to see it

bikes already pretty stripped, font end is underway

I don't have a photo of a newspaper , because ..... fuck the newspapers and their lying agenda

I stuck the standard foot controls on and the foot peg position is spot on , so I thinks ... can I just chop the hangers.... tried it.... looks a bit like I just chopped the hangers... hmmmm ..... scribbled on them with a pen and kinda like it, I will properly draw it up and do it at work, I want it to match both sides and look proper

i'm going to use them as exhaust hangers too , stick with twin cans , mimic the stock headers, but in stainless, I had considered using stock headers, but by the time I have them ceramic coated or plated it'll be cheaper to use tube, a couple of bends and pie cuts

The battery now sits nice, the way it's bolting in I won't have to weld the tray in place . i need to look for a replacement starter solenoid, and igniter boxes , but the reg/rec looks good. Once I have the parts i'll get more work done on the tray

knew I had a metal muddie in the shed, for some reason I had it in my head that it was a skinny front one.... turns out its a wide rear one

the Rad isn't perfect and it's too long, but I can work with it

lets get this moving, spent the last while helping other people

i've cut the material for the battery clamp posts, hopefully start machining them tomorrow

the m-lock is on, but I don't like the angle, so it might be off again and adjusted

m-unit is in place

reg/rec is awaiting its mount

igniter units are in hiding...... i need to build this bike before i lose anything else

found the igniter units..... same place I found the missing m lock while sorting out the GSXR funnily enough

that's the battery clamped in, m:unit in, m:lock re-positioned, igniter units on a bracket , just need to buy a new starter solenoid now .... and join them all up of course

i better make a start to the switchgear

step one - take a lump of loominum

step two - make initial profile cut

step three - clean the machine up sharpish

fucked about a bit more with the shape of the muddie, radius still don't match the wheel exactly, but it'll do . used welding wire to mock up mounts ( been swithering over this for ages... how to attach the front mount, went with loop over the top to match the rear ) , then found some stainless tube. might replace it with solid mild steel bar, less inclined towards cracking ?
