Things have been going slow on my other 2 projects, so I decided to throw some mods on my WR250X daily rider. I alternate riding this and my RZ350.

Here's the WRX when I brought it home a few months ago. Bone stock 2008 with 123 miles on it.

Might take a while to get all the mods on this bike, but I've got a BIG box of stuff.

Was going to do a "Build-Off" thread, but I have too much other shit going on. I'll just do these mods at my leisure.

I'm hoping to pick one of these up this spring. How do you like it for comuting? how far do you ride it?

my comute is long ish. I'm hoping for something I can have fun with and still get decent milage.

I have a 50 mile roundtrip twice a week for school and work is four times a week at a 8 mile roundtrip. If I can avoid the highway then I do because all the fun is down low. With that said I can still keep up with cars going 60-65mph easily if I wanted too. I don't keep track of what MPG I'm getting but I usually always get around 90 miles before the fuel light comes on.

I dunno about a single for a long commute, but then again my ninja 250 is pretty vibey after a while.

The new gen ninja 250 gets 50 mpg all day and is not bad on long commutes. I did a 2 hr each way commute on mine a few days last year. Cold was the only issue, and some hand numb vibes, but better bar ends might solve that.

I drive 58 miles each way 4 or 5 days a week. I know they can get great mileage. one guy took a stock (except gearing) wr250 across America and averaged over 100 mpg. I would be happy with 60+ mpg. I can't have a fun stable of bikes. so I'm looking for something cheap to insure that I can have fun on

This bike is up there with my favorites. Everything is so easy. Took me some time to get used to wringing it out, but now I'm used to grabbing great gobs of throttle. Just have to be more careful when I ride the two-strokes.

I ride about 25 miles round trip to work 5 days a week. Ride on the freeway going in and streets coming home. Have to do 75 - 80 mph on the freeway, otherwise the L.A. drivers will mow me down. The bike rides nice and comfortable, but doesn't have much in reserve if you have to jam out of the way of a cager.

I'm used to dirty bars, so I split traffic like a mofo. I'm already WAY overdue for a speeding ticket, so no whining when it happens.

The little bike gets way too much attention. Seems like every sportbike rider has to prove to me that they can wheelie, too. And all these supercars around here have to lay down a block of rubber off the line to prove that their $100,000 wasn't wasted. I usually scare the shit out of them until we hit around 50 mph. :fu:

This little shit is the mileage king. About 70 mpg with the fuel injection system. I put in $5 every few days. Last time I walked up to the pump, it said $97.86 from the last customer - and I burst out laughing!!

When I first got the bike, I thought the seat was too hard, but I got used to it, and I don't think it needs to be modified.

I think the reserve light is supposed to come on when the fuel level is down to 1/2 gallon (in the 2 gal tank).

But if I try to fill up when my reserve light comes on, I can't even put in a gallon or $5 worth. Seems like the light comes on when only one gallon is used. Now I ride for another day after the reserve light comes on - then put in my fiver. :D

Bought this bike to be my stunter, but don't have time for stunting until my project bikes are done.

Plan to use the blue bodywork and other parts that are on the bike now for stunting. They will be removed and added later with the stunt parts.

Will be changing the blue bodywork and other parts with some streetfighter stuff and custom mods. The modifications will be street-oriented.

Would like to do engine/drive mods first, then add some bling.
