I cant make up my mind on what to build, now keep in mind i'm going to be putting some miles on whatever I build. Thanks to Nc court I have a few months to do it. When all is said and done I have to take a trip to philly and have a talk about a family issue with my grandmother, then off to ga to deal with another family issue.

90s gsxr has the benefit of ally frame which although more specialised to weld, offers the advantage of not rusting if your roads see salt during winter! So definitely this over the bandit too!

early gs and cb both very nice bikes especially when modified but it depends on what 'theme' you decide...CBs look nice in AMA rep style where as GS's personally are just awesome muscle bikes especially with updated suspension

i agree with dan. I'm a sucker for the old bikes.

What about a cb900f/gs with a bandit 1200 motor
This. But only a CB if you are willing to redo or spend money on GOOD rear shocks. If you are riding it everyday, old CB rear suspension is s-t-i-f-f.

Gs1000 or cb750 to 1100f suspension is defiantly getting updated usd and mono shock. I think both would look great with a shortened tail and reshaped seat. But not like a cafe racer. I would do it so it would look like it was a option from the factory. I like the 1979 gs1000 but would want to reshape the tank. the gs would defiantly have a bandit 1200 in it

1979gs1000.jpg I like this bike, but would reshape the rear of the tank or make a new one. shorten seat pan so the rear fender stops at or a little after rear axle. Mono shock rear and idk what swing arm i would use, maybe a gsxr swinger and forks and defiantly the bandit 1200 motor. I wish i had photoshop to give a better idea as to what I'm planning.

Well, the nice thing is that Bandit's are plentiful here in NC. A decent GS or CB will cost ya around here because the craigslist whores are starting to catch on. A lot of the a/o and even w/c gsxr's have been lowered, stretched and painted candy barf by the road dildo crews around here

I've noticed that. A couple of months ago my dad called and said there was a rd350 and a rd400 200 each by the time i went to wire him the money not even a hour passed and they were sold. there was no rust on them or anything. I missed that deal man

Sorry the coffee has not kicked in that is why i was considering a bandit 6/12 build, or a slingshot 7/12 build

You guys and your logical answers
1979gs1000idea.jpg I am gonna find a gs1000 frame. the plan is updated front suspension a mono shock rear and different swing arm, reshape the tank a little, shorten the seat pan to a solo seat, a Bandit 1200 motor, and a face mask with headlights for the eyes. That's the plan so far. I'm gonna try and make it look like it came from the factory as much as possible
