ALL DISCUSSION ABOUT THIS BUILD SHOULD BE IN: Djryanrhymes' 97 GSXR750 build discussion

Hi y'all.

Here's my entry. Yup, another GSXR750. Oh well....
I just discovered CustomFighters Forum a couple days ago. I have been wasting my time in some other forum showing my build. Whatever.... Lots of familiar people here. Seems that I'm not the only forum whore.

So here it is. Bought the bike in September for $3900 with 13Km on it. Of course it was all messed up from previous crashes. I had planned to do the standard streetfighter mods to her plus a little extra.

The before:

Here it is with the shortened tail I made and the exhaust can I made out of a 4" diesel exhaust tip:

And the front end showing the head light and custom rad fairings:

Yes, I know, it's on that "other motorcycle forum site". Sorry, but like I said, I just discovered CustomFighters. And IMO, it's 100 times better here!

My CustomFighters discussion page is here:

So I decided that the square ended tail section wasn't going to cut it. After many hours of staring and thinking I came up with something that I figured was original, feasible and within my abilities. I decided on making an extension to the seat by cutting some sheet aluminum and fonding it into a triangular cushion tray. Then I milled and bent a piece of bar stock to conceal the folded edges. It will make the seat extra long since it will extend from my tank to the end point of the tray. This shouldn't be very noticeable since it will all be black. The whole concept should improve the over all flow of the bike and give it a slight hint of German styling (the azz-up look that I so hate). It also shares the same pointed lines as the fenders.

Finished my coolant reservoir. I used a half mickey bottle and bead blasted an image into it. Then bent up some aluminum, painted it, and mounted it. I think it looks pretty cool.

Oh ya, I built some LEDs into it as well....

My seat got back from the upholstery shop today. I am very disappointed with how it turned out. I may or may not keep it as is. I guess you get what you pay for - $30.

For thoughs who have been asking about what the tail light looks like in the dark, here is a pic I just took. It doesn't show the LED signals or brake but just the row for the tail. And yes I know a lot of people think moon lights are gay, but I think look good on this bike.
