I have a 1996 GSXR 750 SRAD and I just did a mild cleaning on my carbs. I didn't take anything out, just took off the bowls and cleaned it all with carb cleaner. When the bowls where off I didnt see any varnish, debris or sediment. Looked good to me.
However, I did notice that the air box was not tightened on and the clamps for the carbs where loose also. I think this may have been my high idle issue.

Anyway, I made a short video to see if anyone could let me know if my bike sounds good or not. I had already started it and the temp was at about 75 c (that's 167 f for you Americans).

The short Yoshi can was already on it when I got the bike and don't know if it was or needed to be jetted for it.

I am not able to take it for a drive because I have my learners license and I need a supervisor in order to ride.

Any feed back is much appreciated as I have a road test in 8 days and I need it to be in decent running condition.

You guys follow laws in the UK? Take that bitch for a quick rip and if it stumbles when you take off then the carbs and airbox are causing a vacuum leak

I live in Canada, and I live down town. The cops are fucking predators here and have nothing better to do with there time so I ain't gonna take my chances.

Have a friend ride it or trailer it to a private lot where you can "practice" and see if it stumbles below 4-5k rpms it could be a vacuum leak as I said before or your jetting could not be correct for the pipe but I would guess vacuum leak ( I haven't watched the vid just going off your post) everything must be tightly fastened and sealed other wise it will give you a shitty idle and a low rpm stumble

the srads are definitely finicky. especially the carbed ones. couldnt hurt to take the carbs apart and actually clean them right

The reason I haven't done a complete tear down is because I have my road test in 7 days and I haven't taken apart street bike carbs before. I don't want to chance it before my test. After my test I'll be getting into them more or take it to a shop.
