Just ordered some Yamaha Titanium rear brake disc bolts to mount the paddock stand lifters, I think they will look nice and neat. rear wheel spacer off with Taff getting some adjustments, so it sits correctly in the wheel adjustment bracket. Still waiting on the new rear wheel spindle nut, so i can check all is well with the q/r cup fit. Front wheel Q/r cup fitted.

not much longer now till the frame gets finished and off to be powder coated, then should start to come together

got the wheel spacer that i have been waiting on back from Taff, so was able to double check wheel and sprocket alignment with everything where it is going to end up.

then checked rear and front wheel alignment, all good and straight as was planned. so last job for now is caliper side rear wheel spacer.

Ordered some more Ti bolts today for the rear Caliper, also ordered a weld on spring chain tensioner, to fit on one of the frame cross tubes*just behind/ below the front sprocket cover.

Finished off sorting the front engine mounts, final adjustments to plates and tube, drilled holes for bolts, then test fit.

just need to shorten the bolts to correct length and all will be good.

would be cool to see a stress analysis of that bar area, can,t decide if my half educated mind thinks it,d work or not (no need to defend fitting it Steve, i just thinkin out loud, and its of none of my bizness)

Yan, its just that the Bandit frame has it like this, and as i removed the stock GSX cross tube, I thought it couldnt hurt to have one, you might be on to something and it might not need one, but it just wouldnt let me sit right without it.

can,t see it doing any harm, just looks like it wouldn,t do much more than the engine as its on brackets, but then the engine mounts are rubber ... so while it won,t be as good as a direct mount to the frame , like a bandit, which you cant have for space issues, it may very well add something

got the rear wheel spacers now sorted, Taff ran me off a second one as we had a "measurement agreement misunderstanding moment" and the first one was too short*

now correct and fit a treat.

going to get on with drawing up a design for the rear caliper mounting adapter, shouldnt take a lot of head scratching to get it on paper.

Have made a plan on what to do with the caliper adapter plate, going to get the caliper plate machined at the rear to accept a 6mm plate

that i will cut to shape and mount the caliper too.

been and discussed the new rear caliper bracket with Taff, left the bracket with him for some machining, cut and trimmed some Ti bolts, fitted the Q/R cup to the rear wheel spindle ( filed round hole into hex shape)

this afternoon i got a message from Neil at SNT Race Engineering about some FCR's i have for sale, popped over to see him and spend a few short moments ogling all their billet and computer printed loveliness, god i could live there!!

their XR69's are both things of wonder, much better looking than any photos can do justice, and the attention to detail is epic.
