Well today is a biggie in the EFE build compendium!

I have now got all the correct paperwork collected, sorted and ready to send off to get her an age related registration (well it was correct the last time i phoned DVLA for their help, so things might not be all i was told
¬¬
)

will be posting it today, just have to wait and see what comes of it

as i have all the paperwork for Registration now at DVLA, I took the opportunity to remove the LED h/lamp and fit the spot ready for

the return of the number board with the rest of the paint work when it is returned.

not much more to do, but i am going to get the damper centre bracket anodized along with the exhaust bracket and brackets i made for the fitment of the H/lamp.

wanted to see what the carbon oil cooler ends looked like with tank fitted, as i am still waiting on tank/panels coming back from paint, i bit the bullet and went into the attic to retrieve my boxed spare tank.

i know its not going to be to some folks taste, I like it
:P
and think it looks better in the flesh, pics dont do them justice. I will look to get them drilled and mounted in the next day or so.

pottering on with small jobs while i wait to hear from DVLA about registration.

little bit more work done on the end plates, happy with the shape, might do some cut outs or slots.

If i do put some slots into them, then they will be parallel with the bottom of the tank, might play with that tomorrow, but for now it is further evolution of the fitment, also got round to drilling the plates and drilling and tapping the oil cooler ends, worry ye not about the bolts holding the plate in the shots, as i have some black Ti ones on order with some black countersunk washers to finish it off with.

have now got both end plates fitted and secured with the new bolts, have decided to cut some slots into them and also into the cooler end covers for

added cooling, just a little bit of cleaning up to do on them, otherwise very happy with them up till now.

whilst i was at it, i have identified a way to mount the rear sets a much neater way, i will have to remove the mounting points that they now

use, and get them re anodised, but i have other bits that need to go off for anodising, so they can go as a job lot
:tu

i have ordered some nylon rod to use in making a rear wheel spindle tapered end, to aid getting the spindle through the bearings and adjuster blocks when refitting the wheel.

as i had said, i was going to have a play around with the rear set mounting, i had an idea that i could mount them closer on to the frame

down tube, which would make them look a lot neater, but also bring them up and forward to make them a better fit for comfort.

as it is they fit great, need to cut off the second mounting point yet, and then do a small amount of machining to match them to the frame tube.

I have found the registration plate i want to buy from DVLA, if they ever get round to issuing me an age related plate to go on her

its a 84 plate, so if they issue me an 85 plate, that corresponds to her first registration in France, i will be good to go :)

finished off machining and fitting the rearsets, now very happy with the look, much neater and better compact seating against frame.

will be off for anodizing when i send the next batch of bits.

Today is new Registration day, V5 came in the post a lot ahead of what i was expecting, DVLA have issued an age related "B" for her, so i can now see about getting her insured and ready for the road
B|

Dont worry about the reg No issued on the V5, as i have already been onto DVLA Personalised reg plate site and purchased a different "B" plate that fits very nicely with the two main build bikes used

Nice little 6 digit, 3D gel reg plate on order, 174mm x 164mm

For my new B12 EFE registration

Will have to adjust the width of my rear indicators now, coz they were set up for a much bigger and wider 7 digit plate (just in case)

i will be able to set them at legal minimum spacing of 180mm
