Looks like it would keep people from putting rocks into your exhaust, not really quiet the noise.

Did you fire it up to see if it makes a difference?
think that's why they started it in moto-gp, keep the gravel trap out the exhaust and possibly finding a valve.... course that could be nonsense I read on 'tinternet

box of shiny bits arrived today all the way from Ten Kate Racing on the other side of the channel,
new thumb brake kit and rear master cylinder to finish it off, played around with placement and adjustments, will need to get a "Y" piece to insert into the
reservoir hose, so i can run both the clutch m/c and the thumb brake off the same reservoir.
might machine some of the top of the thumb pad on the lever, to give a little bit more clearance for my thumb to fit between lever and bar grip, will leave it as is for now, and see how i get on with it like it is.
taking bike into SNT tomorrow to get the exhaust hanger welded up.

Well today was a "game of two halves" FFS!!!!!
First thing was to load bike into car and pop over to see Neil at SNT Race Engineering to get the exhaust hanger welded up.
started fine, bike in, lashed down, happy with loading and off we go
Get 100m down road and notice bike is moving, so stop to check!
bike has slid from the upright down onto its side against to rear passenger seat!
try as i might every time i got it anywhere near upright it would slide back down onto its side.
i was going to need more than just myself to rectify the problem, so got my lad out of bed lol, between the two of us and some cut off decking planks (used as chucks to stop the fucker sliding) we got her upright and secure.
point of note to anyone thinking of cleaning the car with cleaning fluids that leave a waxy residue on the carpets, new unscrubbed motorcycle tyres dont grip on freshly valeted car interiors. lesson learned
:$

second half was much much better, got down to SNT (only 3/4hr late) to be met with the always smiling Niel, seems he was having a bad day too, he was in the middle of sorting his wifes car that had just failed its MOT for a rotten sill.
got him straight on with my bracket, whilst i checked out the bike for any damage from the loading fuck up, seems car seats are good at absorbing impact, only damage was to the car seat where the footpeg opened a new flap in the side material lol.
Neil sorted the bracket in no time, great job as always
:)

after the exhaust hanger i set about re hashing the thumb brake fitment, like i said before i am going to need to remove a small chunk of bracket, but test fit No2 seems to have it where it needs to be.

bit of time last night and this morning, let me get on with fitment of the new rear master cylinder for use with the rear thumb brake/foot brake, also fitted the rear brake return spring kit at the same time.
I had to make an adaptor plate to fit between the m/c and rear set mounting bracket, just need to find a pressure switch for the rear brake light that wont look awkward.

made sure that the carbon heal plate would still fit.

Machined a bit of metal from the thumb brake mount to allow thumb brake to fit at the correct angle against the clutch M/c, only needing a "Y" splitter to fit into the Clutch Reservoir hose to plumb into the Tb m/c.

bit of reverse direction taken today, after putting some brake fluid into the thumb brake and getting it bled, I took apart some of the bits that were test fitted, so i could get them away for anodising first thing in the new year. rest of the bits are a bit spread around
couple of small jobs to get sorted and machined up, but next time it all goes together it should be for the final time

quick trip down to see Neil at SNT this afternoon, for a few small jobs, Nylon insert for the end of the wheel spindle turning down, change shock spring over for new 150Nm, ask about anodizing and get engine mounting plate machined.
spindle and shock done on the spot, whilst i was put to work making the coffee's,
left engine plate to be picked up later.

spindle end fits great and works a treat.

Took a trip down to AA anodising in Skipton yesterday, dropped off all the bits that i have modified from various places on the bike for re anodizing,
to bring it up to good as new looking. stopped off at the Route 59 café for a belly buster breakfast on the way
:)

brake light inline pressure switch arrived from Webike Japan, so now brake light will work with both thumb and foot brake when i mount it.

as i am sat doing nothing except suffering from a viral throat infection (no not rona virus) i thought i would do some small jobs i had meant
to sort out a while ago!!
First was to make a longer starter motor lead and tuck it away as much as possible, then secondly re route the clutch hose and re position the DB connector.
job sorted in a quick session.
from this......
