I guess I might as well start a thread with all these mediocre 250 projects on here. Do it all, or not at all. That's the only way. Anyways This started life as a 2007 ex250, now has close to 30,000 miles on it. After a minor collision it was deemed fighter worthy and was taken from this

To this.

This variation worked well for a while but after noticing the sheer boredom inducing lack of design and flow this is what ensued.

Well after rocking the mini-cati thing for a while, I think it's time to take it to the next level. This Weekend Mounted the k4 gskr front end, with hayabusa rotors and a k7 steering dampner.I had to use a 05 zx10 master cylinder, and did a single throttle cable conversion to accomplish this. But anyways here is the end result....

Alright, did work this weekend.

First stripped the existing subframe of all electrical, etc.

Next, removed all of the excess subframe.

Next add seat support, and mounting tab and raise subframe to proper angle.

rear view

Next bend and weld lower supports up to subframe and test fit tail and seat

rear view

Next, remove itty bitty two fitty rear, and install fzr600 rear. (Thanks Ck, you were right.)

And Last but not least, With extensive modification install cbr600rr rearsets inplace of cruddy factory units.

So, yeah it was a long day of work but still gotta finish the electrical and the tail light mount on the subframe.

Never mind, an hour after I typed this I had the correct turbo in my possesion. I finished the subframe to mount the tail and tail light first, then started on the intake manifold. I got the radiator mounted, with bleeder installed, and the fan mounted. Alll that's left on the radiator is to plumb the system and to fab up a shroud. This upcoming weekend should be the weekend of the turbo, even though I've got to put an engine in my truck.

Alright, finally got my fucking parts from knee draggers(see previous rant).

This sprocket is huge compared to stock! With the over size rear wheel it was a neccesity though...

Also my brand new mikuni flat side came in:D (sorry for the jesus glow on the carb)

Alright, D'd some W this weekend, and made a lot of headway in the go fast department.

First, PC'd the rear sprocket and installed it

Made an intake plenum and installed it

Then worked on the exhaust header and inlet pipe

And finally installed the carb and airfilter in their final resting areas

And then finally the EOD pic at the end of the driveway, for next weekends motivation...

Alright, so D'd W, now back to bill paying. Next weekend will either be the rewiring and coolant plumbing, or installing the new engine in the truck. Either way, I be Ding W!

Shift-- I simply threaded a stud into the turbine housing and just slide in a nut. It's a MF to get to and tighten but it works.

Like this

I'm not worried too much about any back pressure that may be produced, it will be minimal with the tip sloped back along with the volume of exhaust flow...

Wow man, VERY impressive work.

I wasn't able to go through all the pages so far, so in summary, DO you actually have the turbo working or are you still fabricating?

And what did you need to do for the stem to get the USD's on there? You said it was almost a direct swap, did you just swap the stems? And I recognize the rear swingarm, but is the front end a... gixxer??

Sorry, probably asking you to repeat yoruself I know, but EXCELLENT build man. I wish you the best with the turbo, I've heard a lot of nay sayers about that over the years, it would be fun to prove them wrong. :)

Look of the thing is great, the tail looks a little long, but great otherwise.

I was wondering when you'd stop in. The front end bolts up as long as you have the parts for both, the races line up perfectly and are 100% bolt up. The turbo does work, I have a shitty video, stalled before it ran well, but the battery died aaarrrrgggghhhhh!

The front end is gsxr1k with busa wheel/ rotors.

Link?

But anyways, got a little done this weekend, got the undertail made just not fastened yet, got the exhaust wrapped and painted, and got the Coolant hardlines finished. Also finished mounting the tail and getting the fitment right.

And just for refernce, with everything ducted, the radiator fan will pull a rag off the tire.:D

Appreciate it! You're like the third person that's said that you joined to post in this thread!

I agree on the radiator, it will not be staying as this setup for long, the bike will look completely different for the land speed record attempt. The radiator fan will be reversed and blow downward, with ducting going into the tailsection from forward facing ram ducts. These will also be used for the intake air setup on the right side of the bike to draw fresh air across the air filter.

The way this projects going it'll probably end up seeing limited street use, becoming the second ride to my 900. This bike is going to have twice maybe close to three times the factory power at stock displacement so it will probably sacrifice a large amount of reliability.

The Cbr600 rearsets I used had to be modified by boring the centerline of the mounting holes outward to spread the gap. The factory hardwear comes nowhere close to fitting but rather will stab you in the ankle at any chance. You may also have problems with clearance due to the stock frame location.

As you can see the frame on mine is arced upwards away from the rearsets . It could be interesting though...

And last but not least cell phone for the win!:D
