Hey everybody! I'm thinking of buying a Suzuki SV650 as the bases for my fighter. It's the best i can afford. What do you think?

It's a great bike. Great aftermarket support. If you go to SVrider.com, you'll get lots of advice and tips if you're the do it yourself type of guy. One thing though, if you think of doing prolonged wheelies, the SV won't be good for that. It's a Vtwin and if you have the front up alot, it will cause oil starvation in that front cylinder. If you just want to crise town or head to the nearest twisties, it's good, cheap fun.

I used to have an 87 gsxr 750 waaaaaaaaaay back when and then stopped riding for a while. The SV is a fun bike. Just don't thing you're gonna beat your friends on I-4's on the hways.

front end swaps are REAL popular on SV's. most people run gsxr front ends on them. Upside downies to be exact. plus the newer suzi gsxr forks with the black tubes and shit! WaaaaaaaaY nice!

Hey! Pinch me am I dreamin all this.

When I joined CF my posts were all about my SV Thou and what I was upto doing with it. I had alot of positive response but then til now I didnt see anybody else doing anything much with the SV.

But now wow this is great. I enjoyed the shots of Enrico's machine
and the buell front, and am liking all the ideas that I'm seeing.

What is a big surprize tho is why no one is going for the naked 1000 as the starting point. after all it is Son Of the Mighty TL remember!

And now fresh back from the dyno she's making 113.92 BHP at the wheel with 73.14 Ft/lb torque.

Daslers SV TL2 996R 'slingshot' now officialy makes more power than a Duc 916!!!

If you check out some of my other posts on here you will see that next stop for this baby is the NOS dry nitrous kit.

I'll be V. Happy to swap tips 'n info with all you SV dudes any old time.

Here is a handy link for yous all where you can check your current set-up to some of the opposition around just now. Enjoy!

Nice, I like the pics of your bike BB. I think since there's more 650's than the 1k's, you'll just see more 650's that are "altered". I think Suzuki just made the naked 1k just in 2oo3 and then made the S version after that. Still no excuse, I like the low end grunt of Vtwins as well as the sound they make. If I got my hands on a SV1ooo, I'd do the same thing that I dd with the 650. Shoot, I'd do the same thing with whatever bike I had my hands on.
