This is for those who have replaced their rear turn signals with LED units and are now experiencing the fast blinking effect from the low current draw of the LED units.



Go to your Local Radio Shack and pick up two 8 Ohm, 20 Watt Wire-Wound resistors, some 18 gauge wire, and some Heat Sink Compound. This will cost you about 5 bucks. You can also pick up some wire-taps if you don't want to solder a splice into your blinker wires.

The concept is simple: install the resistors between the positive and negative leads to each blinker (in other words, wire them in parallel).

You must solder a short length of the 18 gauge wire to each side of the resistor. Be sure the length of wire will allow you to place the resistor in the desired location. Then, splice one wire into the positive and one into the negative side of the blinker wire. Polarity does not matter, so don't worry about which wire goes on which side of the blinker wires.

Be sure to apply tape or heat-shrink tubing on ALL connections. Make especially sure that no bare metal is visible on the connections.

Before attaching the resistors to the subframe, apply a bead of the heat sink compound on the side that will contact the subframe. This will allow the subframe to better absorb some of the heat generated by the resistor.



Place the resistors on the metal subframe. Although these are large resistors, they will heat up if you are sitting at a long light. I used heavy-duty zip-ties to secure the resistors to the sub-frame in the above picture, but I will probably change this to safety-wire just to be safe.



Congratulations! Your blinkers should now be flashing at a normal rate.

you also need 2 resitors for each signal light and you can find most of the parts either at radioshack or other electronic stores

Actually, you can do it with a single resistor.

Take one lead of the resistor and connect it to the outgoing side of your flasher relay and the other lead to ground.

Done :)
