Anyone ever use it? I may need to use it for the custom exhaust I am planning for my SF Gix.

Also, where to get black pipe wrap and how well does it hold up?

TIA, DZ

Hey Doug ,
When i wrapped my header last week or so , skrooze gave me alot of good input , and also added that when the black gets wet and weathered it turns color ?? Might want to ask him about it before you decide on the color of wrap ??
And most race or speed shops have it in stock and skrooze was also right about the ties they sell that go for the wrap suck, don't work well and are defective !! :D

The best thing to useto hold on exhaust wrap is safelt wire.. It's thin so you cant see it much, its strong, and you can pull it real fuckin tight. Ill swear by the exhaust wrap, that help's out alot.

As for the flex pipe, I wouldnt even use that on my car. Theres so many ripple in the pipe the exhaust has to fight its way to get out taking away power and perfomance. Besides it rust's out and rot's faster because of exhaust condensation and the elements outside, it looks ugly as sin lol. But thats just my opinion..

Thanks for all the replies guys. Much appreciated.

Spyder;I am with ya on the safety wire thing...that is what I was planing on using to hold it on anyway.

As far as why I am gonna use, when you see my exhaust and what I am doing, it will make my life a lot easier. And, with the wrap around it, no one should know that it was used in the first place. :D

Just my input, but as far as wrapping your headers, hope your bike is never in the rain or left outside. The water soaks in and around and clings on to the pipe until it rust. Give it about a year..... I'll show pics as soon as I find them of a set of headers after the header wrap was removed.... Just my advice, do what you like, just trying to help.

good point about the flexpipe spyder...all those ups and downs and corners make it way hard for the exhaust to get out ..definately would suck up power.

Flex pipe is an -if you absolutely need it- thing.

i coulda used it once..for my old scirrocio, but i didnt have any...so i tried duct tape.

duct tape doesnt hold on things that get hot, like exhausts...or ducting for that matter.

haha

now i know this. and knowing is half the battle.
