Its been a while since I asked a really stupid question, so I thought I'd hide it in here to avoid too much stick.

The forks on my s2r are non adjustable and soft as butter, if I found forks with the same external dimensions, but adjustable, could I swap the internals? I'm guessing not or it would be a common mod?

That's good advice and applicable to pretty much any non-adjustable fork, which almost universally seem to be too squishy. Next step up on viscosity and slightly over-fill the tubes.

I've also seen people drill/tap the fork caps and stick schraeder valves in there so you can add a few psi of air to stiffen them up a bit.
