Ok so I have mounted up a 2000 gsxr 600 frontend on my old 82 Honda 750. There appears to be 3 adjustments on the forks. One down at the bottom and 2 at the top. The 2 at the top consist of a big blue adjuster and a smaller screw inside the blue one. I understand the concepts of the adjustments but where do I start as a beginning setting if there is one? By the way if it makes a difference I weigh about 230. I know I am fat-LOL

Big blue adjuster up top is the preload. Turn it until you get 25-30mm sag with you on the bike. Being an older (read heavier) bike the springs might be too soft to get the right sag numbers.

The upper small screw is compression damping. You should feel light clicks while turning it with a screw driver. Count the clicks and set the screw to the middle setting.

The lower screw is rebound damping. Set it the same way as compression.

You can tune from there as those are middle of the road settings.

Later, Doug
