I have not really played with gauges much at all but when i fighter my thundercat im not sure what to do with the gauges
I want to keep the original gauges but they just are too big/ugly out on their own
Thinking of making a case for them but will probably turn out horrible or maybe i can use a ready made case for another bike and chuck my gauges in ?

What is stopping me for example using something like the gauges off an already naked bike like xjr1300 ? completely noob but why wouldnt it work? as long as they are both cable driven speedo, tach signals same? dont know just thinking out aloud

I know some have fuel level vs the yzf fuel low warning indicator but all other warnings are just basic LED's i assume
thoughts?

aside from the cable driven speedo, The gauges would more than likely use different resistor values for its different functions. not sure if manufacturers use the same values across their model lineup.

But, there are many aftermarket options.

Yeh ive read through that gauges page and am still in 2 minds about aftermarket jobs. If i do go that way i want something that is going to last the life of the bike thats why i want to stay with oem built stuff

See with something like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/230936926646?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
It states the tach fits most jap bikes (4:1 ratio) so im guessing they must be close to being interchangeable

My dad has an xjr1300 so ill have a look at his gauges next time im there but its not like i can pull them apart lol

I have a Acewell gauge and it works nice and looks good. A smaller guage that doenst give a bulky look but gives you all the info you need. I payed around $160
