So, I was hit on my commuter bike awhile back (now only bike); 98 YZF600R - Thundercat, and it's time to do her up right... NAKED!
--------------------------------------
So, here she is AFTER I spent a whole winter fixing what the PO did... Broken fairings covered in Vinyl, crudded engine & carbs, scraped frame and misc other B.S.
Fixed her all up, powdercoated frame, painted her Met Metallic Blue, and rode her like this to and from work (105miles/day) for a little over a year.
Then, a few weeks ago I was hit by some jackasses on an exit here in Tulsa, OK, resulting in me dumping her in the grass to avoid hitting a wall @ 50mph. Good shit... Anyway, I figured why not strip her down and have my way with her.
Sooooo, I'm going to keep the stock seat which WILL look very good if I can pull off the subframe correctly. Pretty much I'm going to have to follow the contours of the underseat and keep it minimal, but have solid support for 2-Up riding. The front I will be fabbing up something a little different, making use of an Angel Eye HID I picked up awhile back. No dirty bars for the moment as the triple is pretty sketchy and I think I'd rather wait til I get the $$$ to do an USD Fork Swap (1st Gen R1 most likely). Got a new set of clip-ons I'm gonna flip with some el-cheapo Pazzo knockoff levers I bought.
Lots of other MISC stuff planned, but mostly it's gonna consist of things to make it tie itself all together. Got some plans to make those UGLY Ram Air holes in the frame look better. I was gonna eliminate them (and still might), but I've gotta figure out whether I can actually get my carbs to not run like shit with PODS, cuz I'd really like to stuff the Battery & Electronics under the tank, hence, I'd need to get rid of the airbox entirely... Damn... I'm just realizing how much work I'm actually getting into. LOL
I'm gonna try and actually take pics of what I'm doing, as I'm pretty bad about that crap, but I know that I like to see them, so I'm gonna be conscious of doing it. I just start doing work, and well... yeah, you know.
