I have a spare set of tripples collecting dust..so I am gonna cannibalize them, and try making a dirt bike bar set up. I am still gonna wanna use the controls of the stock 2001 GSXR 600 clip ons.....so I am thinking I will need to the bars to be 7/8"... Yes?

Also, from the other ghetto fabbers out there...which risers did you get, where and how cheap? I am trying to dig up a set from an SV650 naked bike, over on SVR.....but if anyone here has anything I can use, please, let me know.

FWIW...I am not sure if I am gonna go clips ons or motocross style bars for the finished bike...but it'll be nice to see both options, for hopefully small change$$.

i use TAG risers. you can get them for 7/8 or 1 1/8 bars. i think retail is like $50. so find somewhere you can get em discounted.

I ordered Tag risers 1 1/8" for $44.95. they should be here any day. Tell me if think your fork tube adjusters sit up high on yours. I think they will hit the bottom of the bars on mine.:confused:

Spacers inbetween the risers and clamp. Metal blocks usually. TAG should sell them. You'll need longer bolts.

Hey Doug, check out my buildoff thread, There's a pic or 2 of what i just got. I used all my cables and controlls except ordered longer brake lines ! :letsride:

My main concern is running into clearance issues with the fork tube adjusters. Have you guys been sliding the forks through the triple to make the top of the tubes fit flush with the top clamp? That would change the ride height, but does it affect ergonomics or handling at all?
