I've been tidying up my wiring loom for the last few days and it finaly looks half decent, i'm suprised it worked at all it's been hacked up so many times, but now it's neetish and everything has been soldered and heatshrunk, i've fitted a set of blue led lights front and rear and they look the bollox, next up i'm gunna wire in a remote control ignition and starter and finally i want to fit that rear camera set up that Bigreds got, that lot should make the Gix super trick and over the winter i want to junk the original clocks and get a vepor or acewell set up also speed camera detector would be most usefull.

I'll post the destructions on making the remote ignition and starter in another thread and some nighttime shots with the blue lights to follow :pwas:

The bracket for the clocks/gauges is a homemade bodge job using the original unit, I removed the clocks and pulled the alloy plate and rubber from the steel bracket then i cut off the bracket where the clocks go, i also removed the cluster of idiot lights (Thats what we call em' dunno what they are stateside) Then i got a piece of steel bar 5mm thick and 40mm wide cut it in 2 and put a 90 degree bend in each piece i drilled 5mm holes on the end of each piece and mounted them where the 2 ingnition barrel bolts are on the bottom of the top yoke (You'll have to remove the same thickness as your steel rod mount off the mounting points if you still wanna use the steering lock, as i found out Much later!) next i figured the angle and hight i wanted the gauges and choped the bar to the right lengh, Then i got my Mate to wield what was left of the original clocks onto the 2 pieces of rod at the proper angle (cos i'm shite at wielding) Job done!!!! I stuck the rubber and alloy back on with some good glue and put the clocks back in. only real problems with this is the clocks kept moving round with the vibrations as i had to lose the mounts off the original bracket, solved/Bodged this by putting (Fuck!!! whats the word we call em jubilie Clips???......thin metal straps you tighten with a screwdriver) round the clocks tight up against the bottom of the bracket , also it ain't pretty thats why i got the big screen to hide it all away along with the ugly wiring, been running with it for 2 years now and it ain't fell off yet, but at 130+ it vibrates so much you can hardly read em.

I hope this all makes sense to you dude cos i've confused the shit outta me, gotta stop smoking da erb!

I think the brits would have us beat in a streetfighter build off. no contest. but us yanks are catchin on pretty quick. we finally are startin to see a bit of a fighter culture in the US. I'm even starting to see an "American style streetfighter" start to emerge.

Oh yes! you guys are definatly on the right track, i used to think all ya US biker dudes did was dip everything in chrome plating and call it a fighter :D but you have opened my eyes and i reakon in a short space of time you guys will up there with the best builders in the world, it's all a matter of taste, i'm still not a fan of the german style of fighter but you can't take away from em that they build some of the baddest rides, I know i keep harping on about this and that in Streetfighter magazine but i've been into the fighter scene for over 10 years and getting bike featured in it is still the benchmark for a true fighter and you folks are getting in regulary and showing the rest of the world Streetfightin' US stylee' Nuff Respect.

Wish I could say the same up here in Canada (Canadia ??) I think I could ride for two days and only "hear about" two other street fighters, let alone actually see one. Every one thinks it's really cool and many say they would like to build one but none have taken the "BIG" step yet.....I say Good!!! I like to be different and stand out. but would enjoy the company of afew other fighters on my weekend rides. We're just seeing fat tired choppers emerging (and making me sick, I've already done that shit). I guess it makes it easy to be "cutting edge". I suppose with the TV exposure on "Super Bikes" and Rolland Sands Shit Kickin' of the "choppers" on the latest biker build off, we can all expect to see an explosion of fighters soon.... Can't wait.

i agree that the US is coming into its own niche with streetfighters. i see this as a direct reflection of the growing popularity of stunting. most of the sickest stunters out there ride naked..its more accomodating to the sport to have a streetfighter setup. the dirtbike bars, no fairings to get your legs over(highchairs), the bars and engine cages, plus theres the number one reason for nakedness...fairings are expen$ive!

Hmmm.... interesting point ya got there.... although I don't even stunt, the way I found out about streetfighters was through learning about and being around stunting. Hmmm...

That's the truth, too. Kinda like it's said they started over seas. Crashing your bike, but wanna ride. I stumbled on a copy of Streetfighter in a book store and doled out $8.50 to check it out cause it blew me away. Just loved everything about it.

Yea, $10 an issue is a little freaking ridiculous! Nice bike their from the Dirty Jerzy boys, I'm not a big fan of the paint, but I never am :( other than that it looks like a nice American fighter! And I like the classic American Fighter tailpiece : the 12 bar! :LolLolLolLol:

What about Brit joe's fighter? that is an awsome canadian fighter, anyway ain't it to cold to ride bikes in your neck of the woods? ( Ha! Ha! just kidding, i'm just jealous cos it's constantly raining in England)
And i,ve seen some pics of Brit joe playing on some of ya roads out there in the sunshine, pure biker porn :D

$10 is pretty extortionate for a mag! i agree but i would expect to pay the same for a US bike mag over here, thankfully i won't have to open my wallet cos they are all shit :LolLolLolLol: As for the 12 bar that is definatly all American and i'll expect to see it on a few more UK bikes in the near future as more British bikers are influenced by ya amazing stunt culture, I've seen a few small stunt crews emerge over here in the last year or so copying your style with varying degries of success, give it a couple more years and hopefully it will become more widespread and not just confined to dedicated stunters like Fergusion, Carmicheal & Jones, that'll be cool!, biggest problem over here is not many places to practice the pigs are so strict if ya caught pulling a simple wheelie on a public road (including deserted industrial areas) it's an automatic 1 year Ban from using any vehicle on the road and a massive fine! they call it dangerous driving and faliure to be in proper control of the vehicle, BOLLOX!!! I SAY stunting is the epitome of superior machine control;) Shit that reply went off on abit of a tanjent, i gotta stop posting when i'm shitfaced at 4am in the morning:LolLolLolLol:

no u dont haha we like that shit. i do it sometimes too.

i've heard of/ read about a crew or two from the other side of the pond. . . it made me laugh cuz they were all dressed up like the ghetto stunters in big baggy shorts and shirts with black socks pulled up and a backwards hat instead of a helmet.

:LolLolLolLol: :squid:
