A friend of mine in Calgary just bought an identical bike (same colour and title!) for $2800 CAD. I thought that was a decent deal, I'd say $2K for that is fine. I'd do it myself.

not in my opinion. 3k-ish can get you a clean, non salvage, 94 900rr usually.
