Hello everyone! i am new to this forum, first post! alright so here is the deal! i just got a 2001 gsx-f katana about a month ago, and personaly i think it looks like a fish with all the fairings on! so i took those SOB,s off and i thought it looked a little better, i think the naked bike looks is a lot better than the sport bike look! anywayz long story short, it looks like a crappy version of a naked bike, need some good cheap ideas on what to do! if anyone has any, PLEASE reply!!!
the katana has a fat ugly tail, anyone know of any universal tail fairings?

1: orderd headlight fairing! enduro brand of eaby

2: orderd chrome wire covering for wires!

Your options for a tail are pretty vast, and all of them require some level of mild fabrication.

You can get a tail from any other bike and do one of the following:
1 - Adapt the subframe from the other bike to fit your Katana
2 - Build a custom subframe to fit the new tail

Motocyco, Wild Hair Accessories, XPO Streetfighters, and Streetfighters, Inc all have unique tailsections for sale.
Check the Links Section (Click Here) for links to their site.

It will take some metalwork, some fiberglass work, and some money to fit another tail. Check eBay for tails from another bike that you can repair, use racing bodywork (cheap), or just open your wallet and pray.
On that bike you'll also probably need to fit a different seat, or cut that one down.

Streetfighters are about creativity.

Be different, be resourceful and don't build a pile of junk. Spend time cleaning up wires and lights, etc... Make the bike look like it should be naked off the show room floor.

With anything I do, I press to make it look like it was build by someone who does that all day, all the time, for a living. I don't want shit to look like it was built in my garage. That's just me though, i'm not fond of half ass junk.

Not saying that my projects don't turn out like half ass junk, because sometimes they do. lol

Powerbronze & Aztec8 both make a pretty reasonable dual headlight setup for about $200 that looks good and not cheap. Or there is always Acerbis

The Aztec8 lights are nice. I had a set for a little while. But if I never see another Acerbis headlight again it will be to soon.
