I need to find a headlight for my kawasaki 650 fighter. The Acerbis lights look intresting but is the cyclops DOT legal in Texas ? I have considered morphing a projector light from a car and just trying to hide the back and wiring some how , does anyone else make aftermarket lights , I don't really like the round chopper stuff . Any ideas ??

I like the Acerbis look, but not sure how DOT approved they are. I've heard alot of ppl have had problems with lighting at night.

This ash-hole below used a buell headlight. What a freagin moron. He even taped his signals to his forks. Such a sloppy job, wait, is that a zip tie right below that signal holding his headlight? No class at all.

my cyclops is just fine at night, but i also run around with both bulbs on all the time. the smaller of the two lights isn't so great by itself. BUT, it's alot better than the bulbs in the other acerbis headlight setups. those crappy 35w bulbs in pretty much all the other setups are useless on a dark back road at night. the cyclops also has a DOT stamp on the lense, which makes it legal. the other setups acerbis makes aren't DOT approved, as far as i know.

I don't think cops really look at headlights for DOT stickers.. I guess it would be a problem for inspection.
it's an issue in va. i used to get stopped all the time for the non-dot led tail light on my gsxr. none of my bikes would pass inspection anyway, so i don't even bother.

"it was there officer, but when i rebuilt my forks, i had to scrape the sticker to get them out of the trees, just haven't had a chance to get it re-inspected, i'll take care of that asap" :D

i passed inspection no problem with my acerbis cyclops. has a high and low beam even a running light if you want it.

and yes, at night, run the HIGH beam always.

other than that your looking at a dual round setup for headlights such as the ones made by aztec or some good projector fog lights may work.

if you want something totally friggin awesome...you're probably gonna have to make it, cuz i aint seen such a thing yet.

closest thing to totally friggin awesome were the headlights made by Lazareth ( www.lazareth.fr ) REALLY PRICEY tho.

oh and enrico...please tell me your gonna enter the buildoff to sort out the ghettofication of your front end lighting setup. or at least get rid of the tape. hahaha

Dang, 10,000 euro for the mono fork, and 680 euro for the headlight that looks like it came off an xt? that is pricey!

I found these:
http://www.simpson-detour.co.uk/yourside.asp

Some ideas for you guys who are into lighting aesthetics (with expadable pics). I'm gonna get the Simpson Predator version now after fitting a cheapo alternative to my TL2.

(you can see pics of my big mistake in the "Gentlemans Streetfighter" thread in the Aesthetics section in the CF index.)

I thought it looked real sweet until a short ride blew out the low beam filaments and i discovered that the lamps are some non-standard piece of shit that I cant find a replacement for.

Worth a look? BB

Nah, I don't save many pictures

But foglights are just generic lights. You can go buy two little 2-inch circle lights and bolts that shit to your forks. Aim one down or paint an eyelid on it and voila, $16.95 for low and high beams.
