first of love this site, alot of great info. Second i am about to fighter my honda cbr f4i, but when i remove my upper fairing i realize ill need to remove the gauge mounting stay too inroder to install new headlights. Anyone know places that build / sell mounting stay that mounts onto forks or something like that for the gaugues?

thanks

I'm still figuring this out, too. But I'm pretty sure if you go to a M/X style bar, you will be able to find or make mounts that mount to the bar. So far, that's the best I've come up with. I still haven't decided if I'm gonna us MX bars or not, though. :(

ya, i dont think i have the money to get the bars since im doing some other mods as well XD poor college student hehe
although i did find this http://www.whaccessories.com/GSGInstBrack.gif
from wild hair, it says its for cbr 900, but im gonna get it to see if it will mount on, if not im gonna then figure out a way to modify that piece to match it. But first! i need to see what their return policy would be XD

my last mount consisted of a couple of long black zip ties and a set of dirtbike bars! worked great, not the best looking, but it worked fine.

oh ya tihs is not related to gauge mount, just wondering is there any belly pan that will mount straight onto the F4i? I dont really trust the "universal" ones cuz i am always afraid that the mounting point will be off XD

universal usually means....modding required. but it "will" fit. keep in mind the hornets are updated, old motors. the 919 is the old 900rrs motor detuned and fuelinfected. so id assume the 599 is an older 600's motor :)confused: ) so they mounting points might be dif.

however on the other side of the pond they call cbr's funny things. so that might be the right part.

Yeah, I think I've read that the 599 uses the old F3 motor. I tell ya what I'm learning though, especially using a older bike like a fizzer, most mods that i'm gonna do, are gonna have to be at least partly custom. Not to many bolt on mods out there that aren't cookie cutter mods that are on everyone elses bike.

no more stock fairing, but i do have a fiberglass race lower fairing to spare... what im not sure is will cutting fiberglass fairings leave a bad edge? what i heard was the edge of the glass would be very uneven if you just cut it :(
