Im Duncan, this is my Honda h100SJ project I am doing whilst being at Coventry University.

This is where my little smoker was.

Yamaha clipons with machined reducers..
custom exhaust..
chopped down frame..
enlarged reed Block..
k&n style filter..
modified carb slide..
single seat..
stripped and deluged frame.

polished engine cases..
custom shifter lever..

This is how it was left before my last year of uni... But i now have it with me in my room.

I have just brought gpr50/125 wheels, swing-arm and forks.... The forks should just need 1mm taking of the diameter.

How she sits at the moment with wheels and forks sitting in to see what she looks like.

This will be a Frankenstein of a machine

I may need some help with this one.

Thanks man :)

once i have got the front yoke machined and fitted with new bearings...and wheel-spacers made...I will be looking for a set of levers...

what are the nicest looking ones with a cable clutch and a hydrolic front brake?

I was thinking cb600 ones with a cheap set of alloy levers.

I have been playing with the idea of a mono-shock rear setup...the only problem is I will need the swingarm to be made wider at the frame mount point.

It is aluminum...so im assuming its pretty expensive.

any thoughts?

So.. I have been playing with ride heights...trying desperately to figure out what i want to do with it... mono-shock..hard-tail..or just keep twin shocks.....

I have no idea what is the best way to get the swing-arm to fit...but it looks like its going to need some sort of welding to get it to fit around the frame even if i cut the frame down...

I still haven't found a local place to get the lower yoke machined down.

rear swingarm :

Its around 90mm between the frame mounts.... my frame is about 170mm.... could i get it widened at the pivot points? or would i be better off with a different swingarm?
or would it be cheaper to get a longer steel one made?

playing with ride height... i slammed it to see how it would look as a hard tail and it looked alright......it looks ridiculous if i jack the back end up .....so it will probably stay about this height.

Are you desperate to use that arm? Now you know how wide you need it to be, just shop around on ebay and bombard a load of likely arm sellers with questions re: width. Also worth asking for the dia of the pivot axle, if you can find one that is close or exact in both then you'll save a load of headache.

Slightly wider is better as you can make spacers, this also allows you to tweak wheel and chain alignments with a little side-shift left or right.

Sub'ed!

Hey guys,

I wanted to use the swinger to save me hassle with the rear wheel setup...but i think you are probably right about looking for a suitable swing-arm to save all the hassle of getting it widened.

Bombarding sellers for information is a Very good idea!

John, I am currently in my second year of Automotive Design... Are you at the university or working as a Automotive/product designer?

I am going to take the bottom yoke to the university engineering building and see if i can flutter my eyelashes into getting it done cheaply or for free.. as it only needs 1mm taking off its stem.... It seems the least they can do after i pay £9000 a year for my course :L

But if for some reason they refuse do you know anywhere i can get it done?

Also your banner looks like alias work.. I am due to be taught how to use alias this week.. If you have any tips, I would be most grateful.

I finished uni 3 years ago and have been working in industry since then. Been to a few places and had quite a few contracts within car design. Working at a consultancy now though where we do a bit of everything. If you have seen my website then you may have noticed the Formula E racing car i worked on. I did the Alias modeling for that. Need to update the website with the final version of the car but i just haven't had chance to yet.

I have a few companies locally that can do the machining for you if you need them too, not sure how much it will cost you so make sure you sweet talk the technicians at uni and im sure they will help you ( we never had an issue getting things done there)

As for learning Alias, the basics are quite easy once you get your head around the interface.
You lecturers will show you the basics and then it will all be down to yourself and constant practice. Once you get to that stage ill be able to help you better as i will know what problems you are facing.

Be careful adding too many huge parts on that little bike. You'll need twice the stock horsepower just to get it moving.

Inverts look great but they are much heavier than standard forks. Same with the braced swing arm

Cool Thanks john...I would be very interested in seeing the finished product.

Yes the parts are alot heavier than stock...although the parts that are fitted are the same as the gpr 50cc... with stock power being around 8.5 :LolLolLolLol: the Honda's stock 10.5 should be enough..

i will admit this will be no speed machine..... although i have heard rumors that when these were raced they used to squeeze a pathetic 19hp from it....still its not bad for such a small displacement.

quick sketches and a splash of airbrush..sorry for the awful quality..i don't have a a3 scanner

what do you think about the idea?

Agreed!

I am currently looking into Derbi senda yokes..the forks look similar with the same wheels.....

I hope they are the same offset and diameter but with a longer steering spindle to solve my yoke problem.

Im not sure on risers or clipons atm..
Im swaying towards risers with old-school straightish bobber bars..as this saves me the hassle of rear hangers....for now :D
