I can get it from across the pond for about $150 and you don't want to know how much Harley wants for it so I've got to build it myself....it doesn't look real complex but I'm wondering about the material...aluminum? Would it be easier to use steel? I'm really wishing I had a little milling machine

I gotta find more pics of this thing...

They do but one might think the parts have been gold plated by the price, I just seen a rusty/dirty xb9 race can go for $281 on eBay, that's just nuts!

It appears that the "shock" is nothing more than a heim joint with a nut and a pretty stiff spring over the threads.

Whippy, I don't see why you couldn't make something similar quite easily using some steel plate, appropriate spacers, maybe a bushing or needle bearing, a heim joint, a spring and some correct length bolts with lock nuts.

Later, Doug

These keep the belt from being stretched when the suspension flexes, thus extending the belt life and at $200 a belt it's worth it

i am pretty sure it is closer to 250-300 unless you buy a "kit". Was just a suggestion though.
