I have a 99 bandit 600 and the speedometer and odometer quit working! Now I checked the cable and it seemed to be fine, so what else could the problem be? I don't want to buy a whole new speedometer if its just the sending unit in the wheel or something. Thanks!

its probably the cable my last bike had the same problem when it was colder outside because water gets into the cable and then freezes causing damage. its only like £10 for a speedo cable and really easy to install. the speedo's on the bandit dont usally have any problems unless you bash it with a hammer or somthing lol

If it's anything like the GSXR's, then you may want to check the snap ring on the inside of the gear piece on the actual wheel. Pull the wheel off and look inside of it. If she's all loosey goosey in there, the snap ring will probably came apart.

First, check the cable. Lightly pull both ends of the squared thingymagigger and if they pull apart, it's broken. If they don't, then something else is up.
