So... we need to determince once and for all how legal these fighters have to be so everything's fair.

This is a multiple choice poll, so select EVERYTHING that you think should have to be on the fighters when they are done to be considered "legal" enough for the competition....

Headlight - mounted AND working
Taillight - mounted AND working
License Plate Mount - don't need a legal road plate, but need somewhere to put one
1 Mirror
2nd Mirror (check both mirrors if you think 2 should be in place)
Turn Signals - mounted AND working
Muffler - meaning no straight pipes, bypasses, etc.

VOTE FOR EVERYTHING YOU THINK SHOULD BE INCLUDED TO BE IN THE COMPETITION!!!

I know, me too, BUT... most states in the US, their general law just states: Muffler: Mufflers required. :LolLolLolLol: Some states, like CA go on to say, no bypasses, or holes cut in the muffler on purpose... that's pretty much it. So... I'm thinking if you have a muffler on the bike, that hasn't been modified to be straight thru, then you're good! arty-smiley:

The whole point is to build the bike the way YOU want it !!
So, If your bold enough to ride without signals or mirrors and not too concerned about getting pulled over for it. Then that's your buisness. I for one am not going to tell anyone they have to put anything on thier ride. when i get pulled over it's never been because they didn't see me signal,:LolLolLolLol: shit I'm just a blurrrrrrrr :rock:

You can also have plate-type mufflers (turbo style, they're called in the biz) and you can have what they go by in some other countries which is "Don't care what it is, as long as it's quieter than x dBs"

What I was referring to, is fake mufflers: they look like muffler, but really are just a straight pipe the whole way...

I just added muffler, because people were saying it should be street legal, and there are VERY few places in the world where you can legally ride a bike with no muffler at all.

I voted for all of them simply because I went out of my way to find acceptable/good looking options for my bike. I ride it every day and the last thing I need to do is draw MORE attention because I don't have mirrors and signals. The options are out there, not having them to me, just seems lazy.

That's the thing Endo. I don't have mirrors or signals and my bike doesn't draw attention from the LEO because I don't have to have mirrors or signals, so both of our bikes are street legal where we live but yours has to have more shit than mine - shit I can't really afford.

I got them, just don't like riding with mirrors. not the way they look just don't want the distraction ( don't ask, just the way it is for me and something i learned about myself ) Don't want to argue the point about the mirrors, they are dangerous !! you wouln't convince me otherwise !

I like to have rear signals, so's the person behind me knows , and they never once in 22 years of being on the street ,EVER seen my front signal, so the hell with it. I put my plate where i feel like it, if they can't see it then pull me over, I'll show them. Just the way it is. I'm not putting a horn on either that is the other use for my right hand. If i ride in gymmers then i tuck the laces in. Brights on always !! I always wear my gear off road, but not always on the street = ME ??
I make as much noise as i can and don't give a fuck about dec ? whatever that is. ,write me a ticket I'll pay it ....maybee ?

I ride sooooo damn agressively and attentavly that it's actauly defensive in my eye's, and NOONE passes me !!!!
I believe most all of these things, and my vanity and roadhogish ways have kept ME alive this long !!!!

I think all mirrors should be taken out of cars so they have more incentive to turn around.

I think guys should build the bikes as FIGHTERS not street legal daily riden bikes.
So anything that isn't important could be left off.
If a guy made some wun off mirrors he wants to show off then the bike will have mirrors.
I voted for head light & tail light because even consept bikes have em.

Yeah.... Endo is literally living on instant noodles and KayDee while he's in school full time so that he can afford to do anything to his bike. You wouldn't believe the amount of money it's taking to restore his bike to running condition, let alone fighter the darn thing. I'm constantly amazed at the ingenuity he displays in the day to day work on his bike.

Wow, did I ever open I can of worms with this topic.... So many valid points made. It's hard to vote.

IMO if some of the mentioned components are part of your design then great, maybe you'll benifit from it when it comes to judging. On the other hand, the lack of these parts may hurt you in the judging (ie.,lack of custom parts). Sometimes a 'clean' looking bike can also be a 'boring' looking bike. So really, it should be up to the builder and how much time/money he wants to spend increasing his chances of winning.

The poll should have another option as "No requirments". Do you really think a bike is going to win if it doesn't have a headlight?

Well, I look at it this way, stuff like this is really up to the descreation of a cop when it really comes down to it.

3 things all states require.

Headlite
Taillite, Stop and brake
Tag that is clearly visable.

Get caught with out any of those and they are not gona be happy.

Everything else is optional.

You're born with turn signals. Turn your head if you need to see behind you. Just because you have a muffler, doesn't mean it's quite.

If your state requires certine things, by all means use them, but for the purpose of this comp, I think the bare essentials should be sufficeint.

so very true i voted for all but the signals and 2nd mirror but im gonna have everything on it since sask cops have nothing better to do then to harrass custom rods and bikes

i say...if the bike drives and operates well. its built.

if you choose to comply with laws...thats up to you. Most fighterers i know and sportbike riders for that matter DONT pay attention to a lot of laws. SPEEDING! WHEELIES! LANE SPLITTING!

if you dont want to be a runner, hook it up legal. if your strait hooligan, do whatever you want..ahaha...cuz youre gonna anyway. i voted for headlight & taillight.
