I need some assistance removing my rear engine mount (2006 gsxr600). It seems to need a special tool to remove. I have tried to remove with a regular sprocket set and I have broken two heads doing so.

Any help is much appreciated.

I undo the side that doesn't need the "special tool" first then u undo the special tool side but that castle nut itself stays on the frame, u undo the Allen head in it (can't remember if it was an Allen head or hex head on the inside of the castle nut on those bikes) but just leave it alone until u pull the bolt, whichs a long one going from side to side on the engine (hence undoing the nut on the other side first)

Hope that made sense, if not :fu:

So I basically have a socket head on one side, then I have a socket on the other in front of the castle nut. So I should undo the socket head in front of the castle nut... remove that, then undo the other side?

It should then just slide out? I have a replacement for the long bolt it is connected to, so maybe I can just toss the castle entirely?
