I wanted to see what methods others have used to ensure they get the correct front end ride height after a fork swap?

Here is how I do it:
1. With stock suspension and sag set where it's ideal, I have someone hold the bike upright, unloaded.
2. I then measure the distance from the lower most tip of the bottom of the headstock/steering stem to the ground in the straightest, most vertical line possible.

After I do the new fork swap (usually a newer model entire fork/wheel/brake setup) I atttempt to get the forks to a generally close spot to how high I thought the stock ones were.

Then I repeat the above and slide the forks up or down as necessary to get the same height as the stock setup.

What are you thoughts on this procedure and how do you do yours?
