So today i picked up this baby. Dunno why, but price was nice.
1984 CBX750, no paperwork, engine turns but havent run in 6 years. I think that coils are missing. Clutch lever and brake lever. Will check more in few days.

Oh price 200€

Plans!?
get it run. Probably have to check carbs, new plugs, get coils.
Sourced cb750 frame with paperwork, will pick it up later
Get pretty fuel tank
17" Rims might be better
Custom tail, but retaining stock frame
I think i feel like girder front

So i wanna do it in muscle bike influences.

Also i want shinyribs recognition and him to be proud of me :)

I love projects that start out like this. They only end two ways

1) Super nice fucking fighter

2) (two months down the road) "What the fuck am I doing? Fuck this piece of shit"

My dad had one of those. Well more than one but with old bikes that's kind of the rule.

I really liked it, there's something cool about the engine like hydraulic valve adjustment? Anyway the engine sounded nice on a neta exhaust. Like the 80's :D

The narrow tyres also felt like the 80's, but I do like the look of comstars. Call it a perversion I guess.

The rear shock and the fork are air adjusted. Kinda cool as long as the seals are working but that was in 1984 ish.

Good luck!

One important thing, ideally before you try and start it. The alternator is behind the engine and driven from a chain. The chain tensioners aren't perfect. You might want to check it isn't going to grenade on you.

Secondly....

Also i want shinyribs recognition and him to be proud of me :)
....you need to seriously raise your standards. :D

Lastly...

Looks like Shiny doesn't approve.
He hasn't even popped in here yet
Damnit Shiny, show the man some appreciation for another CB on the forums.

 Sorry, Rex. I need to keep a better eye out for new builds, rather than only checking my subs/participated threads. I'm glad to see you veer away from those crookedy V4's!

Subbed

Ok first question. Are those bikes wasted spark system!? in need of coils. Would gsx ones fit!?

69-78 sohc and 79-83 DOHC are wasted spark. Your bike is what we call a Nighthawk, and I have no experience with that engine family, but I'm 99% sure it shares the ignition system of the previous generation.

If you need a Factory Service Manual I can direct you to free download.

Edit: Google says yes, wasted spark. Make sure you use the correct ohms, too. I don't know about V4's, but the CB's always have a specific ohm plug cap/wire/spark plug weirdness to keep you on your toes.
