So I'll start with a little back story about myself....My name is josh I'm 22 I live in massachusetts and have no means of transportation..........
so anyway i always see people posting all the time about buying bikes for like $200 and putting in a bit of work to get em running....and having a running motorcycle for under$500..... yet i cant find anything decent for under $1500 so I guess my question is does anyone know where i can find a bike for cheap? I can only spend like$500-$700(if that) so if anyone has any sugestions or if you know any one selling an older bike for cheap please let me know

Yeah it's unlikely you'll find a DD in good shape under $1500, let alone $500-700. The bikes found on here need a good amount of work and money. And with the time of year it'll be impossible to find one at that price in general.

Even if there was a $200-500 bike on CL, they would probably ask at least $1000.

Best bet is to just save up some more cash and find the a bike that runs, but is cosmetically retarted. At least a running bike can be ridden for the most part.

Your best bet is to get word out you are looking for a cheap bike running or not. Tell all your friends, post it on FB, post it on CL. You never know, somebody might have a ride in their garage under all their junk and they want to get rid of it, but don't want to waste the time trying to sell it. Have cash in hand and tell them that is all you have but you will get it out of their garage and out of their hair right away.

How much experience do you have working on bike? Cars? If you are a little lacking then be sure the essentials are all there.

Make friends with some of the local tow yards.

I picked up my last deal for $300 off a tow yard who just wanted the bill paid. I probably could have got it for less but I didn't wanna push my luck. Basically ask em if they have any insurance write offs that were left with them. They sell those to get their tow bill paid and usually make a lil profit. If you are lucky like I was it will be a running bike.

Other than that what all the others have suggested is a good start. But yeah you are jumping in the wrong time of year. You want end of season regret deals. Or end of season wrecked deals.

@jerryatrophy im not picky at all i could care less if it looks good i just want something that i wont have to put a grand into to get running
@MikeGyver i have a little experience working on cars almost no experience on bikes but i learn fast and while i would like to find something that runs im open to anything as long as it doesn't need MAJOR work done to get into ok shape

does the gs run? and what does it need?and the biggest question is do you have the title? and what are you looking for in trade? i might be able to find some one with a truck to bring me to get it P/M me more info on that gs and why ask if i am hilarious??????
