Ive been offered a turbo kit, for my GIXER 1k streetfighter.
its from a guy that went to the dark side and now drag races A KAWASAKI, $3000, bucks he said for everything and he said he would install it for me, he rekons I wont need to do anything to the motor. what do you guys rekon, this is gonna be a street bike,
Now I know I dont have to have much of a boost, anyone know what I would have to do to the motor to still have a bike that dosnt detonate itself,

Yeah..what he said. What kinda setup is it? You shouldn't have to do anything with low boosts, but with higher boost, you'd have to look at lowering compression, installing larger injectors etc. Have a chat with Ethan, or see if you can pin down James at Walt Healy...

from what Ive seen of it it looks like a home made JOB. and he fitted it two the gixer 1000 by removing the oil cooler and using the send and return....sounds a little mickey mouse for the amount of money he wants for it.,

Yeah it does...who made it Joe, someone local? Is it Dr. Gixxers setup? He was selling his for $3K obo and he had a lot of work in it. Had some stuff made up himself, but it has worked for a couple years and put down good numbers. It's a Velocity Stage 1 kit...he also had the airshifter (which I want!), Yoshimura Stage 1 cams, Yoshimura EMS, and swingarm extensions, all for sale.

so there's no oil cooler now? I think you would DEFINITELY want an oil cooler if you're running a turbo on a stock motor, even if you keep the boost low.

Yeah, if anything you'd want a larger cooler because the turbo's gonna up temps dramatically. Too often these set ups come from someone who used to drag race, so the cooler and other safe guards weren't necessary. Watch out using these for street driven bikes, though. I can say to re - implement a cooler system wouln't be too hard. It's just that for the price, you may not come out too far ahead, when you consider most decent kits will include matched mapping etc.

How do ya figure? If you're gonna say that, explain why? I modded a couple of my posts because I don't believe he and I are talking about the same person.
