that was a Sunday afternoon well spent , throttle bodies fitted, cables connected and snapping shut with a satisfying "thunk".
The brake line I fucked by routing it wrongly and jamming against the lockstop is replaced, thankfully I had one hanging on the wall, tiny bit long , but it'll do
gear shift linkage is on, found a connecting rod(needs painted) but need a rose joint
drilled the hole for the switch gear peg, so both switch gears are fully fitted
and got the number plate hanger drilled for the indicators and wires, need work yet, but tail light not here yet

spent all day yesterday tidying the loft, going to take a bit of time that one

managed to the shed today

put the battery in place, Ducati shop I use is shut for xmas so the battery strap will have to wait

fitted the numberplate lights, means I can finish off and paint the plate hanger

filled the coolant system

and started on the fuel lines

Christmas is over, back on it , sump has been treated to a few litre of putoline , so it seemed like a good time to send 12v into the starter motor...... it cranked over fine, no clunks, bangs or anything else untoward

then with the vacuum bleeder I borrowed from my mates shop bleed up the brakes and clutch, they're shut for the festive season, turns the entire affair into a half hour job

gear linkage is all connected with new left hand rose joint and nut (rather than the right hand one i bought the first time)

i then cut through the angle grinder cable with the angle grinder while making adjustments to the top tank cover......... not my finest moment of the day

filled the rad with coolant, then took the ugly ally water pipe off and welded the leaky pin holes , if I had any dignity I would use this pipe as a template and weld a nice one (which was the original plan) ... but apparently l don't .... but then its not going to be dragged about shows to win ten bob trophy's , it's a tool for a job, that job being behaving like a twat

fuel lines on next , they'll need some clips n stuff as the shock and exhaust occupy the same kind of area and I'd like to avoid any external combustion

last task for the day was drilling and tapping the front spindle sliders , lock them on with stainless M5 grub screws

sprung hose clips arrived just before new year, might as well fit them, bend up a bracket for the horn, never use one, but the law says I need one, nothing fancy, just a scrap bit of stainless, but it does the job , fitted a couple of top hat bushes that were waiting in the box and started mocking up for the chain guard. Threw the rest of the bike together till the light arrives, got another job that I need to take care of

haven't rushed into positioning the light or moving the speedo, it will involve machining the yoke, don't want to be rash, a plan is forming tho

i did order a shorter clutch lever blade, but misunderstood the description and got the wrong one, guy at BDS racing was brand new on the phone, its getting sorted

started a chain guard , its as rough as arseholes, but it'll be right

That vise looks like if it could talk it`d have stories to tell for weeks on end. Need to make a pair of them alu grip faces for mine as well, got a pair of magnetic alu rubber ones but the magnets are so poor they keep dropping off.

Edit: my boys love gummy bears as well ;)

i have a bigger vice at work that might be coming home , the soft jaws are easy enough , just a couple of bits of ally angle , cut a check out and hammer round the vice

headlight fitted, required a bit of butchery to the light and the bottom yoke, but its on and solid. It'll need a new lower mounted muddie, high one just doesn't work with the light .
need to use one of the non led speedo pods, so the led's will be repositioned, might be able to combine it with lock stop, got a hazy idea

I haven't abandoned this, new clutch lever is here, but house renovations have reached the critical stage and can't be put off any longer. I'll be back soon
