Well here I am again, late and with the same bike. This year I might actually have a shot at finishing the bike. Mostly because it is half built! I figured if UF can enter the same bike year after year so can I :D

Here she is on Dec 7, after 2 years of building

Still lots of work to be done, everything is just sitting on the frame, no mounts finished, no electrics, no brakes, no idea if the motor even runs!

Did some work last night, figured I would get the headlight out of the way, since this is a low budget build, I used my hose clamp trick for the light bracket. I found out you get what you pay for with headlights, this thing is a piece of shite, all plastic but cheap!

Now a little surgery on the light fairing, I know, I know, we are supposed to be stripping the bikes down but this doesn't count because a) it didn't come from this bike and b) i had it in a box of junk so we need to use it. Like the title says, leftovers

Tonight the Dirty Bars go on!

As promised, city bars. Had to build some 1" risers because of the interference with the shock adjusters. Build a 3/8" thick ally washer to put beneath the triple for strength. Turned out well.

Wow, been a month and a half since I last DW. Trying to get back in the groove on this one. Made some coil and seat brackets

Found these in a box, thought they would go well together

Another Bracket from some left over material

and here we are, Not too bad eh?

So in my infinite wisdom I cannot figure out how to source a set of custom length or extended clutch and throttle cables. I can get custom stuff from Motion pro, but dam they are expensive. What do you guys do when you add dirty bars?? Also I can't seem to find any decently priced Pod filters for the ninja 600 motor, Any ideas on this front. Dam it I just realized I need extended brake lines for the front too!

Had some time to get a little done this past weekend. Some plumbing elbows! First money I had to spend on the built so far. $12.34

Rad is plumbed in. Figured I should make a cover plate for under the seat

Built some lugs to weld to the subby and threaded them to fit somenice stainless bolts I found in a box of cbr parts. Hopefully get these welded on tonight.

I've been slowly plugging away. Started building a wiring harness

Mounted up the speedo/tach

It even works! Lights on

I was missing the clutch adjuster nut, couldn't find one for less than $40, so I built one

Final prep before paint

Rattle can high build primer

High heat engine paint, just in case

Not bad! Trimmed up the headlight shroud

Welded and Polished up the steering stabilizer.

Next step brake lines...
