cool thanks. i wasnt even done my posts and you made me a nice comment thread.. how thoughtful!!
No problem! We did that so the buildoff threads stay nice and easy to read through. There is a link at the top of the buildoff threads to their discussion threads and vice-versa.

There's also settings in the usercp to have the link to your buildoff threads show under your avatar...

Lookin good man...you mind fillin' me in on how you made the tail? I know nothing about modding plastics. Is that all just plastic welded?

first i cut a piece of sheet metal up and bent and grinded and welded the hell out of it.

once i made it fit nicely, i pop riveted it in place. the i used flexible body filler to fill all the seams and such. lots of sanding to shape it a bit and voila...

nothing is plastic welded.. as a matter of fact the back part of the tail is metal and the front is plastic..

bikes looking great. i was thinking of mounting my gauges in the same location you used...

fender looks better than i thought it would after seeing the first pic. good job! did you use a dremel tool? drill? saw blade? butter knife?
cuts look good. did you have any problems with the plastics cracking??

nope plastic didnt crack at all i just used a Black and Decker Handisaw that i got for xmas from the inlaws. i new itd come in handy sometime. Also i used a Diegrinder with a round grinder bit to clean it up.Yeah it didnt turn out too bad. and like i said if i dont like it at any time ill just pick up another fender. it was a cheap little mod that gives it some character.

I think you did a helluva job. I'm having all sort of problems with fiberglassing a new tail on my bike. Your way would have definitely been easier. But I'm to committed at this point. Nice work.
