Options: Buy KOSO for big money or take a chance with the knock-off...

Exhibit A-The Real Deal: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Koso-RX-2N-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d0d46911&vxp=mtr

(I've actually found those cheaper for around $275 shipped)

Exhibit B- El PooPoo: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-T...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd98e4cc0&vxp=mtr

I'm very tempted. I know it's Chinese, but it's electronic...could it be that bad???

What would you do?

BTW, the KOSO unit I actually want is this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/KOSO-BA011W...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a79f20d96&vxp=mtr

TBH, if I'd found an $80 knock-off of that model I'd probably already bought it by now. Not crazy about the shift lights on any of 'em. Seems tacky to me.

That one i really want I haven't found a knock-off version of yet.

Guys on here already running these things? I havent spotted one on the forum. A good report would def help me feel better about it. But hell, it's $20 cheaper than a Vapor! lol

*edit* ah, just found it. Knock-off of the one I like- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-S...Parts_Accessories&hash=item43c477143a&vxp=mtr

The knock-off eliminates the tack shift light  and is only $69. It just keeps getting better. Doesn't specify it it reads in MPH or only km/h though.

i think my vapor was $80 shipped from amazon...but it looks like i got a steal. personally I wouldn't use the knockoff but that's just me. $95 isn't that much more expensive and it should last longer with great customer service behind it.

My thoughts exactly dude. But to be fair, its another $50 to get the indicator panel for the vapor...or a handful of leds. I wasn't crazy about the bar tach on those units either. I guess I'm just too picky :D

eh the tach grows on you ;) i agree though, the indicator panel was a little bit of a rip off. I got my neutral and high beam lights to work, and those are the only 2 I cared about.

Well, I just pulled the trigger on another Trailtech, but I went with the Striker vs. the Vapor this time. The Striker doesn't have a tach, but that's OK, since it's by Trailtech I doubt it'd ever work right anyway(Sorry Trailtech...just saying). But the Striker does have a volt meter (big plus to an old CB nut) and it has a settable alarm for oil changes. I thought that was pretty damn cool! Did you know you can set the odometer of Trailtech units when you buy them new to match your current total mileage? I just learned that.

Hey, buy American,right?

yeah i looked that up when I got mine and unlocked it, put in my mileage, and away we went.

I did have a lot of problems figuring out which leads to use for the tach, but i finally got it on the last coil I tried. ever since then, it's been flawless.
