I dont know if anyone read the super streetbike issue a while ago that had busa's and shit with frames that looked liked colored chrome, but im looking to get it done to my F4eeezy.

I think it was polished aluminum that was anodized, but i want to say its anodized chrome too. Can anyone help me out?

The effect kind of comes out like the red frame in the background of this pic.

So if i want my frame swinger wheels and fork legs done like that, i need to chrome em then get a translucent powdercoat? I really like the candy chrome, thats exactly what i want.

and yeah, candy chrome is pretty cool. do alot of that stuff at work. getting ready to do the chop frame in a translucent red powder over a silver base.

Yeah, slabies just have that charecter that is undeniably cool. There's one for sale localy. 87 or 88 1100 that is in damn nice shape. Still has that crazy BBQ stack muffler on it. Dude wants like $3k for it.

Clear powdercoat would probably be better than colored chrome... Chrome requires a lot of maintenance from what I've seen.

Alsacorp {sp?} makes a chrome paint that (in pictures) looks freaking awesome, and you can spray candy paint over it to get the effect.

Polished stuff is a lot of upkeep like apllying metal polish periodically to keep it shining, but dipped chrome i dont believe is (besides cleaning it and whatnot)

There was a guy at a local bike gathering that had a COMPLETELY chrome busa.....anything you could see (besides tires and brake pads DUH) was chromed. First time I had seen chrome fairings in person. I bet that bitch blinds the hell out of people in sunlight

Exactly. Polished blows, and IMO is the poor mans chrome. Chrome is just a wipe down while you wash the bike.

Wow, I couldn't disagree more. Chrome sucks, and god forbid it chips. It retains heat as well. Not to mention the fact that is doesn't belong anywhere on a fighter. Polished aluminum (if done correctly) looks great. Yes it can be a lot of up keep but not as much as some people think. You can also also polish it to different shines that will all flow together nicely. If it gets scratched...just sand and polish. No need to take the entire part to be rechromed.

the streetfighter issue that bike was in is my most read issue. in fact that is one of my favorite streetfighters of all time.
