inspired by the duck cr500 street fighter build. after watching his youtube videos i was hooked.
this starts a somewhat the same project but with a little twist.

xr400 , 440 kit and 75 shot ......... or maybe boosted

anyway 97 cr250 frame, 07 gsxr750 front end top clamp drilled for bar clamps and 80's k& n superbike black chrome bar. bar is a nos leftover from 86. gave me goose bumps when i opened it and held it for this first time. kinda dates me here but who cares.
zx10 rear shock and early zx10 swingarm. cbr600f2 rear rim, vfr750 front rim , 99 cbr1100xx blackbird front rotors.

thanks guys
any thoughts are very much respected on this build. i have had this bouncing in my brain for a few years.

nothing and i mean nothing is any sicker and then the one off creatures lurking on the street that you all build here.
thank you for allowing von frankenbike to enter the class of street beasts.

now that front end is all fabbed and ready to go time to address the issues with the rear rim . the 600 f2 rear is 8 1/4 from disc to sprocket wide which is way too wide for the swingarm. i will need to machine some off the caliper holder, rim and hub to gain some need room.
tonite i stuck all parts together just to get a mental picture of what plan of attack .

Like everyone else.. my interest is peaked, especially if your mill sees positive pressure ;) I have a build in my head for a boosted sumo using a raptor 660 motor I have lying around.

that sounds very interesting
see what i have in mind is like this kawi new h2 240hp 530 lbs or every hp moving 2.08 lbs
this thing is so light that only 80 hp will give every hp moving 1.54 lbs
imagine 100 hp will give every hp moving 1.18 lbs
power to weight ratio is everything and this has me giddy.
not hard to see what this will be, wolf in sheep's clothing.

with the xr400 in mind, i asked a few other forums about boost options and all told me to forget it, output will be a time bomb with 12-1 piston in the 440 kit.
i think the 440 piston is 89mm and brian crower has a honda k20 89mm turbo piston at 8 -1 compression
so a little more thought is going on.

Friends with any good machinists? If so I would you could use the hi compresion piston and have a head spacer milled up and use 2 head gaskets this could drop your compression. I'm not to familiar with your motor but can chain may have enough slack to get away with a spaced up head of you use a Manuel cam chain tensioner.

man that is a very good point
i have no trouble building anything, i can design ,fab, machine, weld anything. so all is possible
been thinking about this k20 8/1 piston and the bike theme well you get the picture.
on this setup with 12 psi should be in the 65 to 75 hp range with it's bore and stroke.
hummmmm that seems doable .

something about a turbo hanging off the side sounds sooooo cooool
but really too early as i have bigger fish to fry with that rear rim

last few nights i have been busy playing around with all these cool parts. i machined about 8mm off the cbr600 rear caliper hanger to allow as much room as possible for the crush drive. still off about 2.5mm from centerline of the frame.
so need to search for more off the hanger or go with another .
sorry i should have mentioned this . all this is due to the stock cr250 swingarm i decided to go with.
see how the cr engine back mounts on the swingarm pivit bolt so does the xr400 case. the zx10 is solid across. this totally escaped me . on tueday night after work i went to the basement and noticed it for the first time. so out it goes .

also i ordered a 01-04 ish front wheel spacer, the type that is threaded and the axle threads into it. good and long spacer so i could cut it to 20mm long

question for any of you
on the gsxr front calipers , seems to be one brake hose from the master to one caliper and a cross over hose between both front calipers.
i want stainless hoses so is it better to do the stock way or each caliper it's own hose?

You can remove material from the left side of the swingarm at the pivot area to allow it to move closer to the frame, and you can also machine the inside of the left rear of the swingarm to move the wheel left in the frame.

thanks very much for the info . i searched tonight for a double length banjo bolt with no luck.

awesome idea to cut 3 mm from inside the swing arm , i didn't think of that.

had a good night of fab tonight as we are having a big snow storm here on the east coast of canada, a nor'easter.
i picked up a dunlop 120/70 x 17 and mounted it tonight as well cut some material from the frame shock mount area to clear the zx10 shock

i'd rather be cutting shock. seems safer route to me. are you gonna reinforce shock mounts a bit?

well no bracing just yet. today i see another issue, the zx 10 shock has the canister in the way so the stock subframe can not be used. i would need to build a new one.
so i now thinking to make a small extension to drop the shock down a 1" so it will clear. also i need to machine a 1 1/4 square stock 6061 to 30mm wide to fit the zx10 shock bottom and cut the bottom to 20mm to saddle the cr linkage
something like this
