This is my Z... being new to the naked world, not sure if the Z qualifies as a SF. Looked into Triples & SV1ks before getting the Z.

When I got it I was really happy with it, except coming from the Sportbike world the suspension on the Z really sucked... so all the mods are focused on increasing ground clearance & handling...

- 06 636 front end
- 05 636 rear shock
- LSL rearsets
- Muzzy carbon slip-ons & PCIIIusb
- Pro Taper schoolboy MX bar
- Napoleon Mirrors
- Motovation sliders & spools
- ZG shield... (modifying the stocker to put back on)

The rearsets I got from Tyfoon on the rider forums. They were expensive... $345 for the rearsets & another $240 for the passenger option plus another $45 to powder coat them black.

The Gilles are cheaper & come in black if you buy them from 58cycle. But after 1 month & 1/2 of waiting I decided to just spend more on the LSL sets.

No I don't want to sell them... LOL

the bars are a bit lower, & straiter although not quite as straight as drag bars. The reach to them is a bit more aggressive than stock, but no where near clipons on a sportbike. I got these cause the stockers where slightly bent on the right side. Otherwise I would have kept the stock bars, they were nice.

Very nice ride mate! if had the cash for a new bike i'd go for the Z1 first factory bike built thats a fighter straight outta the crate! A few little modds to personalize it to your taste and you got instant street cred!

The Gilles rearsets have a passenger option as well... I think they raised their prices too... but 58cycle is still listing them for $435 I think.

Rizoma makes some rearsets too, but due to the fact that the rear sets hold the exhaust on the Z's, they are comparably priced.

The Mirrors are out of the Parts Unlimited Catalog... Napoleon bar end mirrors. I attached an old photo of them on my bike.

Gixxerman... I would love to see close ups of that oldschool gixxer\fighter in your avatar... looks kick ass.

as far as I'm concerned there is no such thing as a factory fighter. just factory naked bikes. it takes personality and attitude to become a true fighter.

I disagree. monsters have plenty of attitude, it just takes a bit of modification to let out the inner fighter. monsters are on my short list of possible bikes.

I like triples & monsters too... specially the S4r ohlins shod one... that biotch is hot...

Love the Tuono's as well... great bikes & much better handling than the Z out of the box... but they do cost more out of the box too...

The orange fender is the stocker... I had to go with the 636 fender so I painted it black.

Trying to locate an 03-04 black 636 front wheel to mount up front. Kawasaki had Doug Chandler's old ZX7 with a green front & purple rear to match the purple tail... gonna see if something similar works for mine with the black spoked front.

I see in the pics you have the spacers for the caliers in place.

You are using a 03-04 636 fork.

I have a 06 636 fork on mine... no spacers on the calipers needed, but the fender is different & the stocker did not bolt on. I had no other choice but to use the 636 fender also...
