For those that care to know---
I took a big hiatus from building things as I was just getting too overwhelmed with how many projects I have and was too fedup with my lack of a garage situation and the ability to finish projects 100% show quality as to how I want them to be.
I took the break from building, focused on my other love in life which is bodybuilding and started banking overtime hours at my job to be able to just slap down money on my builds and do what is needed to be done on them--I am fedup and DONE with any more of my projects being worked on with any standard below jaw dropping.

Entering into the winter buildoff with JUST my zx900rr first. Then I will move on to CRF500EX.
Anyways, focusing on saying less and doing more.... so here I go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Haven't touched this bike since how I left it during last years winter build off other than sticking it in my storage unit.
Lots left to do and design.
Electrical still is not even sorted.
I will not be half-assing ANYTHING on this, it will be EXACTLY what I want and how I want it (other than I don't have access to a mill)

ZX600c frame
919cc, 900rr motor
900rr front end.
GSXR front and rear wheels
ZRX swinger
Rear shock- I dont remember I think VFR, it'll prolly get changed.

So one of my absolute favorite race bikes is made by Asahina Racing and they have a few different designs that they have evolved with over the years.....

I LOVE the RAW look it has and the "well shit we need this tank to hold more fuel" look it has with the tank.

And since I hadn't decided on any specific tank or tail design for this bike yet, I walked out to my shed and thought I'd see how my old school tank I had laying around would look on it.....
and then holy shit, removed a rubber bushing and it slid right over the frame rails, petcock even cleared it perfectly!

-----Yup I think I'll call that AWESOME progress for today! Pretty sure that tank is a keeper on the bike, but it might change, also I plan on having a reserve tank built into the tail.

Vid made public on my facebook for now.

Spent about 6hrs on the wiring today trying to figure out how things needed to be to FINALLY get this mofawker to throw spark.

Got spark! Seriously so damn happy, this was the hang up on it last year before moved on to the CX500 build. Now to keep everything the way it is and make the wiring mess MUCH MUUUUUUUUUCH cleaner so that it is worthy of being #wireporn

---------------WOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooHOOOOOooo! seriously still so happy I have spark! I was thinking last year maybe the CDI went to crap.

So now that the wiring is sorted out at least enough for it throw spark, I can start to make the whole wiring harness one beautifully simple piece- there won't be much on this bike at all as far as electronics and wiring goes.

Here is the start of tucking away everything, starting with the COP's wiring going back and then up through the plate I made.

And then this was just a super quick throw it up on there mock up, needs trimmed to even be able to sit closer towards the gas tank/forks. If I go through with using this front fairing it will be a ridiculous amount of cutting and fiberglassing making it flow properly with the look of the bike for what I want.

Oh and side note.... I worked 17.5 fawking hours yesterday, why? Because I WILL NOT have a funding shortage on this bike. OT out the azz, as much as I can get. I got this to build, my R1 to clean up, my CRF500ex to hopefully build, and my beastly slammed ram to finish. oh and about 5 other bikes in my storage unit hahaha

Hopefully this picture stuff is working properly....

Played with the gsx fairing a bit and got it closer to the triples, and also had the idea of mounting the like 2.5lb anti gravity battery hidden in the front fairing attached to the forks, still would be TONS of room for mounting in the headlight.

More tweaking and took her outside.

This angle and look of the bike I really like and can see what I want coming through, of this like hunched over racebike prototype kinda of look....

Side shot.... so I can try and figure out a tail

Random tossing on of the duc monster tail, but it just is too long of a seat, and doesnt match anything IMO

Well damn that was fast shipping..

----- This tank is gonna take some serious work to properly fit the frame, and fairing to fit the tank, but hopefully itll work out in the end.
Cost $119.53 shipped for cb900f tank.

:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:
The angles are all there for how I think it would look good together, but god damn they are all very off of alignment

Thanks to Piester I went back out to the garage to DW and grew some balls and did what I always do to make things fit....CHOP CUT REBUILD!

Soooo
First we had this fitment.

Then I MSpainted and sucked the fairing back towards the triples.

Was still unsure about how it would be in real life, but then I grabbed the sharpie and made the CUT.
So here is the REAL LIFE chop. (shouldve angled the headlight angle up more I think, owell thats just tape haha)
Rear of the gas tank is where I think I want it as it fits the curve of the frame perfect, but some RADICAL cutting is gonna be necessary to make the front of the gas tank fit lower/closer to the motor and not be so high above the triples.

And sexier view.

Ugh shit, just got back from vacation and just found out we are gonna have a 4day weekend for New Years.... I want to drag my dodge truck up into the garage and get the motor I built put in it, but I know that's precious winter bike build off time... HELP! I must not get vehicle building ADHD like I always do, that's why nothing ever gets DONE. Arghhhh. Hopefully having the tank and fairing and seat cowl beginnings all sitting at my house will help me stick with it. >_<
