Greetings! As per instructions given in the opening notices for new members, I am posting a who I am and what I have thread. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 9, I have had many dirt bike (Yamaha and Honda) and now three street bikes (06 Ninja 500, 06 Yzf-R6, and my streetfighter project 1991 CBR 600 F2) My "Hopefully not too long term" goals are to do the following mods

1. Install my digital speedometer when it finally arrives in the mail
2. Replace my front rim with the matching back rim (I have it both rims, I just don't want to spend $40 at a dealer to get them to switch it out. Plus I don't have a front stand, so getting the front wheel off might prove challenging. It kinda makes more sense just to wait until I need to replace the tire.
3. I loved the short exhaust of my r6, so I want to put a gp style on there. I know they're stupid loud, but they look too legit to quit. I really like the hotbodies megaphone.
4. Fill in dents and scratches in the tank then paint it.
5. Install my rectifier/regulator when it come in next week.
6. Lastly "probably not lastly, let's be honest" I want to do a tail swap. I love R6 tails, but I like idea of keeping it a CBR. Maybe year range 06-10, price depending.

So, I literally just started, but here are some pics of where I'm at.

What I've done so far:

1. Removed all the fairings and took it all apart.
2. Painted the frame.
3. Removed the Gauges
4. Installed the Headlight with cafe racer brackets
5. Custom made front turn signal holders
6. Hid the wiring harness (kinda)
7. Installed LED license plate lamp
8. Custom license plate holder (tucked under the fender a little more)
9. Installed Mirror Bar-ends
10. Lol tuck this nasty red plastic wrap crap off the tank.

Any ideas, suggestions I'd love to hear. Ive never made a streetfighter before, so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to CF.....

It's a start the f2 makes a great fighter check out the pics section for some inspiration.

Another thing to keep in mind is if you're going to do a tail swap you're going to have to build a new subframe so all the work you did for the license plate will be chopped off.

So I'm getting a little closer. Except, now It seems to be losing acceleration. It will hiccup and even with a wide open throttle, it still slowly speeds up. Any thoughts? Carbs? Air Flow? Fuel Delivery? Spark Plugs?

Next steps are to buy a new tire and switch rims to match the rear and to install my digital speedometer that should be here in a few days.

i to started my fightering with a f2. tail swaps are the shit imho. i like the unique and tail swaps make the public cock their heads with curiousity. love that.

i had some issues with my f2 with accel booging when i took the fairings off as well. bike got totaled before i could figure it out, but i think it was to do with air intake without the fairings

good luck with the build!
(and when posting pics use the tag that has on it, itll post up without having to click a link)
